
Accounts Payable Specialist [Contract to Hire]

Overview
The Accounts Payable ‘AP’ Specialist is a frontline accounting position, reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Manager. The AP Specialist is responsible for processing invoices and payments received from vendors and suppliers. This involves reviewing invoices for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they are correctly coded and approved, and entering data into the accounting system.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day administration of all payment cycle activities and provide efficient client service.
- Manage full AP cycle for assigned vendors, including the related coordination with business process owners.
- Ensures correct sorting, general ledger coding, and matching invoices/receipts, where applicable.
- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures established by the Company.
- Ensure the Company’s authorization matrix approves invoices before payment.
- Collaborate with the Procurement team and assist with vendor purchase order inquiries.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
- Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- High school diploma required.
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
- Good understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP.
- Proficient in using ERP/ or other accounting software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including effective interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work in a dynamic and high-volume environment.
- Willingness to learn and take on special projects as needed
Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- An Associate degree in Business, Accounting or Finance with college-level accounting courses are a plus.
- Familiarity with Point Purchasing, Bill.com & NetSuite.

Work Environment
This job works in a professional office environment and a manufacturing lab setting. Potential exposure to latex, bleach, loud noise, lab equipment hazards, strong odors, and chemical/biochemical is possible. Requires operating standard office equipment and keyboards.

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is listed. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of the role, job duties/requirements, and relevant education, experience and skills.

$36 - $40.50 USD
