Strategic Procurement Lead
About This Role
The Strategic Procurement Lead will be responsible for leading sourcing strategy, supplier engagement, and contract execution for critical equipment and EPC services across IPX Power’s renewable energy projects. This position will report directly to the Head or Origination and Strategic Procurement and work closely with development, engineering, construction, finance, and legal teams to structure, execute, and manage complex procurement transactions. This position is the key role in developing and maintaining supplier relationships, managing competitive procurement processes, and negotiating major infrastructure contracts that support the successful development and construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Team Overview
The Procurement team supports the development and construction of IPX Power’s renewable energy portfolio by managing strategic supplier relationships and executing large-scale equipment and EPC procurement activities. Working closely with Development, Engineering, Construction, Project Finance, and Legal teams, the group leads sourcing strategies, negotiates major equipment supply agreements, and ensures the company maintains a reliable and cost-effective supply chain as the portfolio continues to grow. The team plays a critical role in mitigating supply chain risks, optimizing project economics, and ensuring timely delivery of key project components.
What You’ll Do
- Lead sourcing strategy and procurement activities for EPC contracts and equipment supply agreements including: BESS, PV modules, and GSU’s
- Develop and manage competitive procurement processes including RFPs, RFQs, and bid evaluations for EPC contractors and equipment suppliers
- Structure, negotiate, and execute major infrastructure contracts including EPC agreements and equipment supply agreements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors and supply chain partners
- Conduct supplier market analysis to identify new vendors and procurement opportunities
- Support project teams in developing procurement strategies that optimize cost, schedule, and risk management
- Collaborate with engineering, development, finance, and legal teams to align procurement strategies with project requirements
- Manage contract amendments, change orders, and post-contract execution and administration activities
- Monitor and create strategies to mitigate supply chain risks (including tariffs) and proactively address potential impacts on project timelines and budgets
- Track vendor performance and support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain
- Provide procurement insights and market intelligence to support project development and investment decisions
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 7–12+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or project development supporting large infrastructure or renewable energy projects
- Direct experience negotiating EPC contracts and equipment supply agreements for utility-scale renewable energy projects
- Strong understanding of renewable energy supply chains, including equipment supply agreements and EPC contracting structures
- Demonstrated experience managing competitive procurement processes and vendor negotiations
- Experienced in leading strategy to mitigate and manage ongoing supply chain risks
- Ability to analyze complex commercial terms and structure transactions that balance cost, schedule, and risk
- Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple procurement transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced development environment
- Highly proficient with collaboration and analytical tools such as Excel, G-Suite, and procurement management platforms
