Job Overview
iRely is looking for a Business Analyst to join its Product Development Team to work on the General Ledger module of its software product.
The General Ledger module integrates with all sub-modules of accounting and other modules within the ERP system, enabling users to track, record, and update financial transactions accurately.
This role is integral to the ongoing success and retention of our customers, as well as the continued competitiveness of our software products. The Business Analyst position also offers a clear growth path into a full Product Manager role.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work closely with stakeholders, including finance teams, product managers, developers, and QA, to understand and document business requirements for the GL module.
- Analyze current GL processes, identify gaps, and suggest improvements based on industry’s best practices.
- Develop functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and mockups for new features or enhancements.
- Support the design, testing, and rollout of new functionalities related to journal entries, account structures, period-end closing, recurring entries, allocations, and multi-currency handling.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP/IFRS in the GL design.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and UAT sessions as part of the Agile development process.
- Collaborate with support teams to resolve customer issues and document resolutions.
- Provide training and functional documentation to internal stakeholders and end users.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA (Finance) is a plus.
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in ERP or financial software projects, with a focus on the General Ledger module.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes (e.g., journal entries, chart of accounts, intercompany postings, consolidations).
- Experience in writing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and test cases.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Conduct business process reviews with customers
- Good Communication Skills
- Experience working with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle Financials, NetSuite, or similar.
- Exposure to financial reporting and analytics tools.
- Experience in cloud-based ERP development environments is a plus.
- Experience in MS SQL is nice to have.
