IronMountain Solutions is seeking Junior Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) candidate to support Army aviation programs. This is an entry-level role ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience in systems engineering who are eager to grow their skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This position is in Huntsville, Al. This candidate will be responsible for the essential functions listed below and must display the competencies as described to complete those essential functions.
Essential Functions:
Models Based System Engineer supports systems engineering activities throughout system life cycle, especially requirements analysis and definition, functional allocation and decomposition, and traceability. May be required to support development of concept and operational documents. May be required to develop and present technical briefings. As a Junior MBSE, you’ll work closely with senior engineers and Army aviation teams to contribute to system design, modeling, and documentation efforts. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and apply MBSE principles and tools while supporting real-world projects. Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) requirements and principles related to system design is a plus.
Education and General Experience:
An undergraduate degree in a technical field or an equivalent amount of relevant experience with at least ten (10) years of work in (a) technical field(s) related to system/software architectural design is required. A strong work ethic, the ability to work effectively with others and a healthy desire to acquire new skills are paramount in this position.
Candidates should also have the following:
- Experience with design, verification, and qualification of aviation systems
- Experience in modular design, interface management, and open systems architecture
- Experience with CAMEO tool
- Knowledge of Modular Opens Systems Approach (MOSA) to system design
- Knowledge of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML/UML concepts to support requirements analysis and definition, and allocation, decomposition and traceability
- Knowledge of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) technical standard
- Knowledge of contract requirements and documents (Systems Engineering Plans, Performance Work Statements, etc.)
Job Duties:
- Support Army Project Office’s as a systems software architect during the development of system/subsystem specifications, reference/system architectures, program briefings, white papers, and other products
- Provide technical support in the development of aircraft mission systems architectural design and development
- Assist in the design and implementation of short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software
- Support design and modeling elements with SysML and MagicDraw software
- Develop architectural specification requirements and Performance Work Statements (PWS) based on Modular Open System Approach (MOSA) business objectives and technical goals
- Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
- Research and identify technology products required for solution delivery and assesses contractor provided proposals for technical merit
- Establish, implement, and document the technology integration or migration strategies
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a secret clearance. Per federal requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this level of clearance.
Travel: Must be able and willing to travel up to 30%
