Lithography Process Technician
Position Summary:
The Lithography Process Technician will play a key role in developing, calibrating, and characterizing novel lithography systems to enable Irradiant’s 3D nanofabrication platform. This role requires expertise in microscope operation, materials processing, and analysis, along with a hands-on approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to develop and optimize lithography protocols to translate scientific insights into scalable, manufacturable solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the development & optimization of the entire lithography printing workflow.
- Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols and best practices.
- Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to characterize and enhance resolution, accuracy, repeatability, and throughput, including basic test structure generation.
- Assist with continuous troubleshooting & maintenance of lithography systems to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Collaborate with optics, design and software engineers to develop, verify and implement new lithography system features.
- Understand customer/product requirements and required capabilities/features to achieve project success.
- Analyze process data using statistical methods to drive continuous improvement.
What experience you’ll bring:
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, working with materials preparation, synthesis and characterization.
- Familiarity with common materials characterization techniques (e.g. profilometry, ellipsometry, spectroscopy, optical and electron microscopy).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow experimental protocols.
- Experience with data analysis and documentation of experimental results.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced research and development environment.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in materials science, chemistry, engineering or a related field, preferably with some industry or co-op/internship experience.
- Nice to haves; programming experience (Python, MATLAB), laser experience.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 and we are committed to equitable compensation across our company. We handle our benefits through an annual reimbursement to give our employees greater flexibility with the plans that meet their needs. We offer a Flexible Paid Time Off policy and encourage people to take regular vacation.
