Test Technician (Optical Metrology)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Test Technician within the Metrology Team to support our R&D fabrication line. This position will play a key role in running verification testing on optical components, materials and devices and will work closely with the fabrication, optical design, and materials development teams. This is an in-person position located at our office in Waltham, MA. First or second shift schedule may be possible, if preferred.
What you'll be doing
- Perform a variety of optical measurement techniques, including lens metrology, interferometry, imaging and spectroscopy, using a combination custom tools and commercial equipment.
- Maintain and document incoming sample pipeline.
- Document and report test results and meet delivery deadlines.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration and optical alignment.
- Offer feedback for feature development and continuous improvement in department processes.
- Identify and escalate new issues and assist in root cause analysis.
- Assist in the development and set-up of new metrology test stations.
- Assist in final assembly and packaging steps including alignment and gluing.
- Adhere to SOPs and standard safety practices.
What experience you'll bring
- 5+ years experience running metrology or test equipment in a technical field (optics, electronics, or materials science preferred).
- Proven ability to manage concurrent workflows and samples across multiple test stations.
- Experience working with delicate components with strict handling requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and documentation best practices.
- Familiarity with fiber optics assembly and test or laser alignment is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 and we are committed to equitable compensation across our company. We handle our benefits through an annual reimbursement to give our employees greater flexibility with the plans that meet their needs. We offer a Flexible Paid Time Off policy and encourage people to take regular vacation.
