Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Claims Officer, the Claims Director will be responsible for the oversight of Commercial Auto Claims, specifically responsible for overseeing and managing transportation claims. This role will also be responsible for management and due diligence of claims settlement and/or resolution. Sample claims will stretch across Long Haul & Domestic, PD, Cargo & Trailer Interchange, Non Trucking Liability.
Position Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain claims best practices, litigation procedures, and operational processes
- Monitor claims outcomes through review and audit of performance and results
- Close contact and management of TPA’s performance, ensuring adequate reserving
- Oversee settlement approvals of claims up to $250k
- Oversight of claims resolution/ subrogation across construction, trucking, hospitality, entertainment, and property, in all 50 states
- Act as the company’s representative during litigation. Must be able to handle 20+ active claims in litigation simultaneously with the support of a team
- Must have a strong track record of efficiently settling claims to maintain the financial interests of the organization
- Some travel to TPA offices for due diligence, reporting back to the C-Suite
- This role will manage a team of 9 consisting of claims adjusters and call center staff
- Will negotiate and act as a representative of the organization during litigation
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years of claims experience in commercial property & casualty lines, commercial auto preferred, for a carrier, TPA, or MGA
- Strong track record of managing several vendor relationships at once
- 5+ years as litigation representative for complex claims involving mortalities
- 5+ years managing claims teams/ claims operations function
- 5+ years of people management experience
- MGA experience a plus
- Preference given to candidates with experience and familiarity with the Texas judicial claims system
Role Progression
This role may progress to AVP to VP.
The starting annual pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.
ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
National Pay Range
$132,000 - $165,000 USD
