Technical Program Manager – Data Science Portfolio
itD is seeking a Technical Program Manager – Data Science Portfolio to drive visibility, prioritization, and execution across a growing portfolio of data science initiatives supporting Infra Enablement (PMO) within IDC. This role enables data-driven decision-making by aligning technical roadmaps with organizational priorities, improving portfolio operations, and ensuring cross-functional teams deliver measurable business impact. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in technical program and portfolio management within data science or analytics environments, with a strong track record of driving process improvements, operational rigor, and strategic alignment.
Location: Remote – PST preferred
Duration: Mid-March 2026 through end of 2026

About the Team
This role supports the Infra Enablement (PMO) within IDC, a team of 7–8 FTEs and contingent workers operating at the forefront of AI infrastructure development. As the Data Science organization continues to expand, the portfolio of initiatives grows in complexity and scale. This position plays a critical role in enabling engineering teams to operate efficiently, align to strategic priorities, and deliver customer requirements end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Drive visibility, prioritization, and execution across operational and transformative data science initiatives.
- Align technical roadmaps with organizational OKRs and long-term strategic objectives.
- Develop and streamline project intake processes and resource allocation frameworks to optimize throughput.
- Monitor portfolio performance, track milestones, and prepare executive-ready summaries on status, risks, and success metrics.
- Leverage advanced analytical techniques to extract insights from structured and unstructured data to inform decisions.
- Guide teams on analytical design, modeling approaches, and data visualization best practices.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and data science teams to ensure alignment and clear communication.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, tools, and portfolio management processes.
- Support ongoing production needs, incident tracking, and operational requests as required.
Internal Responsibilities
- Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
- Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
- Complete client case studies and learning materials (blogs, media material).
- Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
- Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
- Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 5–10 years of experience in technical program, project, or portfolio management (CW Level III–IV equivalent).
- Experience supporting data science, analytics, or technical engineering teams.
- Strong portfolio oversight and prioritization experience across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and data visualization.
- Proven experience aligning technical initiatives to business objectives and OKRs.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Experience driving operational process improvements (intake, resource allocation, reporting).
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Background in data science or analytics workflows.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, and dashboarding/visualization tools.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira or Asana.
- Experience in portfolio management or Chief of Staff–type strategic roles.
- Exposure to AI infrastructure or large-scale technical organizations.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
