Technical Program Manager I
itD is seeking a Technical Program Manager I to drive the execution of next-generation hardware products by partnering with Industrial Design, Color Material Finish (CMF), and Product Design Engineering teams. This role plays a critical part in ensuring design vision, color strategy, and product requirements are effectively translated into scalable, production-ready solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in hardware product development, industrial design collaboration, and program management, with a proven track record of delivering complex product programs from concept through launch.
Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite) – Seattle, WA
Duration: 12 months (potential for extension)
Pay Rate: $73.58-$83.07(hourly) depending on experience

Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Industrial Design (ID) and CMF deliverables, including specifications, design of experiments (DOE), and validation plans across multiple concurrent programs
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Industrial Design, CMF, Product Design Engineering, Reliability, Operations) to drive product development and establish best practices
- Manage delivery of ID CMF configurations for development builds and ensure qualification for mass production timelines
- Develop and maintain program schedules based on technical requirements, risks, and business priorities
- Drive program structure and organization to improve clarity, efficiency, and alignment across teams and stakeholders
- Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans, including vendor tooling schedules and design sprint updates
- Ensure all program documentation is accurate, current, and accessible for leadership and cross-functional teams
- Support resource planning and allocation to ensure successful program execution
Internal Responsibilities
- Attend regular internal practice community meetings
- Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership
- Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material)
- Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice
- Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual)
- Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or industrial design environments
- Experience in 1P and/or 2P product development, including defining requirements and program constraints
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Experience managing color development, including color palettes, materials (plastics/textiles), and schedules
- Strong program management skills, including scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working in large technology companies
- Background in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Experience in consumer electronics, hardware, or mechanical product development
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required (Master’s preferred)
