Operations Manager

itD is seeking an Operations Manager to provide business operations coverage for the data center site selection team of a leading global technology company during a planned leave, keeping a weekly internal approvals process on cadence, advancing the implementation and testing of a new portfolio management platform, and sustaining leadership reporting and communications. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in business operations, program coordination, and process management and a track record of delivering on-time executive approval cycles, accurate reporting, and successful internal tool adoption.

Location: Remote. Pacific time zone preferred; candidates in Pacific through Eastern time zones will be considered if highly qualified.

Pay Rate: $37.00–$43.83 per hour, depending on experience.

Duration: Contract, 10 Months

We provide comprehensive medical benefits, a 401k plan, paid holidays, and more.
Please note that we are only considering direct W2 candidates at this time, as we are unable to offer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Run the weekly internal approvals cadence end to end, including intake, materials preparation, pre-read routing, tracking, and follow-through.
  • Quality-check approval decks and intake submissions against templates, chase down missing information from owners, and coordinate cross-functional sign-offs (finance, space, legal, energy) while keeping stakeholders aligned on SLAs.
  • Maintain the approvals tracker as the source of truth, and keep the approvals hub site, process documentation, workflow diagrams, and glossary current; support logistics for live deal reviews.
  • Serve as business-side implementation and testing lead for a new portfolio management platform: define and test approval-workflow requirements, run user testing sessions, triage feedback with engineering, validate data quality, and drive migration of legacy records.
  • Draft concise updates, pre-reads, and announcements for director and VP audiences, tailored to stakeholder preferences, and maintain distribution lists and notification groups.
  • Maintain and improve dashboards and recurring reporting on approvals status, pipeline, and cycle time (including 2-week and 30-day look-aheads); produce operating reviews and ad hoc analyses for leadership.
  • Document current-state workflows, surface bottlenecks, implement automation opportunities, and lead change management (comms plans, training, office hours, user guides, adoption tracking).

Internal Responsibilities

  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, program/project coordination, or process management.
  • Demonstrated experience running a recurring, deadline-driven process with executive stakeholders.
  • Experience gathering requirements and partnering with engineering or product teams on internal tool implementation and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Strong written communication, including the ability to write concisely for senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail while managing many parallel workstreams.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and project tracking tools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in data centers, real estate development, energy, infrastructure, or capital projects.
  • Experience with internal approval, governance, or capital-authorization processes.
  • Experience with data visualization or dashboarding tools.
  • Experience with change management and user adoption for internal platforms.
  • Certification in project management or operations management (e.g., PMP, Agile).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Candidates without a bachelor's degree must have 8+ years of relevant experience.
