About the Position


The Director of Fuel Program & Carrier Rewards will oversee the development and execution of the fuel program, working closely with carriers in our network. This position requires a deep understanding of fuel programs, credit systems, and the operational benefits of such programs. The director will leverage their expertise to optimize the program and ensure its success across all relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Oversight & Optimization: Oversee the management and execution of the fuel program and carrier rewards, ensuring the program runs smoothly and generates revenue through fuel discounts for carriers in our network.
  • Carrier Management: Build and nurture relationships with large carriers and brokers, understanding their needs and ensuring high service metrics are met.
  • Revenue Generation: Work to sell and manage fuel cards, ensuring that carriers receive their discounts while the company generates revenue from the program.
  • Program Implementation: Develop strategies to get the program up and running quickly, bringing on Fuel Sales Representatives as needed. Work to integrate and expand the program within the network.
  • Carrier Network Monitoring: Monitor and assess carrier performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization across the assigned network.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including Operations and Production, to ensure fuel program goals align with broader strategic capacity initiatives.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Establish KPIs for program and track performance, creating detailed reports on fuel program outcomes, market conditions, and available capacity.
  • Carrier Visits & Reviews: Conduct carrier visits to key markets to review KPIs, resolve issues, and solidify relationships through Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR).
  • Process Improvement: Regularly assess and refine programming processes to ensure optimal execution and scalability.

*Requirements:

Experience:

  • 5–10 years of experience in managing fuel programs, with a focus on transportation and brokerage capacity optimization.
  • Experience in selling fuel cards to carriers, ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship with discounts and revenue generation.
  • Strong background in carrier management, ideally with experience in large carriers or brokers.
  • Proven track record of success in managing complex programs and relationships within the logistics industry.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience or certifications may substitute for formal education.

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or brokerage, with expertise in managing fuel programs and carrier relationships.
  • Carrier Management: Deep understanding of managing carrier relationships, optimizing network capacity, and driving results through strategic oversight.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make quick, effective decisions while maintaining focus on long-term strategic goals.
  • Process Improvement: Proven ability to assess and improve programming processes to optimize performance and scalability.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to bring in new relationships, quickly integrate the program into the network, and drive collaboration.
  • Industry Knowledge: Specific experience in transportation, brokerage, and fuel program management is essential. Experience with large carriers or brokers, with expertise in transportation and brokerage capacity optimization.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems, with the ability to leverage technology to streamline operations.
