About the Position
The Asset Optimization Representative plays a critical role in the Asset Division and trailer strategy of ITS. This role is dedicated to maintaining a healthy trailer network with a hyper focus on efficiency. Reporting up through the Senior Vice President of Assets, this role has an immediate impact to the overall performance of transportation operations and maximizing the ITS trailer network.
- Cost Reduction:
- Analyze the ITS trailer network daily to identify and minimize empty moves and load outs.
- Work directly with Production teams to pair lanes based on criteria such as cost, transit, optimized trailer utilization, reduction of empty miles, and elimination of empty move cost.
- Report trailer backhaul needs to leadership and the commercial team on a weekly basis.
- Track and measure impact of changes in cost, empty miles, and overall network efficiency.
- Work closely with the technology team to make product recommendations and enhancements for trailer optimization.
- Trailer Network Health:
- Analyze trailers with high idle time daily.
- Create and maintain pool landmarks.
- Search for available units when requested and proactively based on the team’s book of business.
- Manage and balance required trailer pools.
- Release impounded units as needed.
- Expected Results:
- Decrease in Trailer Move Cost month over month.
- Increase number of paired lanes for customers requiring trailers.
- Maintain highest levels of efficiency as it relates to the Overall Trailer Network Health for assigned teams.
About the requirements
The ideal candidate will be accustomed with working in a very fast paced environment and will be flexible in nature. Additional attributes we seek include:
- Minimum 1 year experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer Service experience and service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to prioritize when faced with multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
- Strong work ethic.
