Product Designer I

New York, NY

About J2 Health:

J2 Health is transforming how healthcare organizations design and manage provider networks—one of the most critical yet overlooked levers in delivering high-value care. Today, both consumers and payers struggle to identify the right doctors due to fragmented data and manual processes. J2’s platform combines best-in-class data with purpose-built software to help healthcare organizations build smarter networks that meet patients’ medical and personal needs.

We’re a mission-driven team of healthcare insiders, data experts, and technologists—backed by leading investors like Tiger Global and Primary Ventures—building a product that’s already delivering real value to customers.

At J2, you’ll work alongside a high-performing, collaborative team in an environment where people have real ownership, meaningful agency, and the ability to shape what we build. We’re taking a thoughtful, nimble approach to growth as we scale a real business solving a real problem in healthcare.

The Role:

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our team and help us define the next generation of network tools.

This is an opportunity to make an impact on a product through visual craft, intuitive interaction design, and an approachable display of high-context industry data. You'll also develop a deep understanding of design's role in software development through product team exposure, cross-functional work, and continuous user discovery.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and customer success, with direct support and guidance from your design manager. This role is ideal for someone with outstanding visual and technical design competencies with a desire to learn how data products and B2B software are made and scaled, despite limited professional experience (1-2 years).

This role can be either hybrid (NYC based, 3x week) or fully remote within Eastern time zone locations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute on high-craft UI designs for new and existing product areas across the J2 suite
  • Convert design UX concepts into high-fidelity assets aligned with J2’s evolving design system
  • Use AI tools to accelerate design and improve quality
  • Contribute improvements to the J2 design system (components, tokens, documentation)
  • Work closely with engineers to communicate requirements and conduct design QA
  • Partner with lead designer and product managers to improve, challenge, and expand iterations during conceptual stages
  • Support and shadow product discovery and research efforts
  • Assist growth teams through ad-hoc design requests for marketing purposes
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to drive design decisions that create user value and business impact
  • Support cross-functional initiatives like documentation, user guide updates, and ad-hoc marketing design requests
  • Actively participate in group design critiques to solicit and provide thoughtful feedback

You Should Have:

  • 3+ years of UI design experience (professional, educational, or recreational)
  • 1-2 years of professional experience (internships, career job)
  • High proficiency with Figma; Proven experience using auto-layout, components, and variables is required
  • Experience with AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Figma Make, Lovable, or any others
  • Strong familiarity with modern product design best practices
  • Comfort in working across the entire design process when needed, from discovery to QA
  • Enthusiasm for bringing high-craft experiences to underserved business users
  • An affinity for wrangling complexity and producing clarity
  • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate your design decisions clearly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and understanding of key data visualization methods and their applications
  • Interest in understanding the intricacies of a complex, regulated space like healthcare
  • Experience or interest in motion design and animation
  • Desire to eventually specialize in high-craft interactions and visuals

Working Here:

  • NYC based role (in-office 3x week) or Remote (Eastern time zone work hours and quarterly travel to NYC expected)
  • Competitive compensation, stock options, and health insurance
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Unlimited PTO: take the time you need when you need it
  • Stipend for at-home work machine and equipment
  • A world-class team of fun, welcoming, ego-free, proven entrepreneurs with whom to build lifelong relationships

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $100,000-$115,000. This role also offers full benefits and equity. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
