Sr. Engineering Manager

Role Overview 

As an Engineering Manager at JazzX AI, you will lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams that develop scalable, AI-driven, enterprise platforms and products. This is a hands-on technical and people leadership role where you will contribute to both technical and organizational initiatives, enabling JazzX AI to execute its mission of delivering transformative AGI-based solutions that transform the future of work in enterprises 

Key Responsibilities 

Team Leadership 

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of talented AI engineers to achieve their career goals and maximize their impact.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation.
  • Establish and uphold engineering best practices and processes 

Technical Ownership 

  • Drive the design, architecture, and delivery of AI-based enterprise cloud systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers, engineers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical efforts with business objectives.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of JazzX AI’s systems. 

Project Management 

  • Plan, prioritize, and manage technical projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality platforms and products
  • Use Agile methodologies to organize sprints, retrospectives, and daily stan-ups.
  • Own the quality and timelines of team execution, outputs and outcomes.  

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with research and other engineers, product management, and UX design to define and execute product roadmaps.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating technical goals into business outcomes. 

Recruitment and Team Growth 

  • Attract and hire top engineering talent to grow the team. 
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of future engineering leaders. 

 Required Qualifications 

Experience: 

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering with 4+ years in an engineering management role.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to deliver scalable, production-grade enterprise software platforms and products.
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms and distributed systems 

Technical Expertise: 

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of system design, architecture, and cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity managing AI/ML pipelines, data engineering, and MLOps best practices. 

Soft Skills: 

  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adept at conflict resolution, feedback delivery, and fostering a positive team environment. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in startups or building enterprise platforms and products from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with trade-offs in scaling AI systems and infrastructure.
  • Understanding of compliance and security considerations in AI/ML implementations.
