Senior/Staff Technical Publications Manager

Role Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior/Staff Technical Publications Manager to lead and evolve our technical documentation strategy. In this critical role, you will own the end-to-end documentation lifecycle—from initial content architecture through publication and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who excels at guiding a team of technical writers, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and applying editorial and technical rigor to ensure that Jazzx.ai’s documentation sets the standard in clarity, usability, and developer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Define and execute a long-term vision for Jazzx.ai’s technical documentation, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and discoverability across all product lines.
  • Champion documentation best practices and establish team workflows and standards to drive efficiency and quality.

Content Architecture & Management:

  • Develop and maintain the information architecture for a broad range of content, including API references, SDK guides, onboarding materials, tutorials, FAQs, and release notes.
  • Ensure documentation reflects the latest product capabilities, updated continuously and accurately in step with agile development cycles.
  • Oversee the integration of documentation assets into a scalable content management system (CMS) that supports versioning, localization, and continuous delivery.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with engineering, product management, UX design, developer relations, and customer support teams to gather insights on user needs, emerging technologies, and product roadmaps.
  • Advocate for the end-user perspective and ensure that content aligns with user personas—ranging from business users, systems administrators, systems integrators (implementation engineers), and other relevant audiences.
  • Participate in product planning meetings, sprint reviews, and design discussions to anticipate documentation needs early in the development process.

Editorial Excellence & Quality Assurance:

  • Establish style guides, editorial standards, and voice and tone guidelines that reflect the Jazzx.ai brand and maintain a consistently high level of accuracy and clarity.
  • Oversee peer reviews and editorial cycles to ensure that all published materials are error-free, well-organized, and meet usability standards.
  • Continuously improve the quality and relevance of documentation based on stakeholder feedback, usability tests, and analytics.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with industry trends, documentation tools, and emerging technologies that can enhance the user experience and streamline internal processes.
  • Introduce and refine documentation workflows that leverage automation, AI-driven content generation, and analytics to predict content gaps and measure content effectiveness.
  • Actively seek user feedback (e.g., from forums, surveys, and partner discussions) to identify areas of improvement and drive iterative enhancements to the content library.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education & Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, English, Journalism, or a related field. An advanced degree or specialized training in AI, ML, or related domains is a plus.

Technical Expertise:

  • 5+ years of technical writing or technical content management experience, ideally within the software industry.
  • Prior experience in a senior or lead role managing documentation teams and complex content portfolios.
  • Solid understanding of software development processes, APIs, SDKs, and developer tooling. Experience with AI/ML technologies is highly desirable.

Tools & Systems:

  • Proficiency with industry-standard documentation tools, content management systems (e.g., MadCap Flare, DITA-based CCMS, Confluence), and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with markup languages (Markdown, reStructuredText), doc-as-code workflows, and automated testing/deployment pipelines for documentation.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to break down complex concepts into accessible, structured, and developer-friendly content.
  • Strong leadership qualities: ability to mentor team members, resolve conflicts, and champion change management.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving business needs.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
