Director, Business Development [AI/Technology for Lending Industry] 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a results-driven Director of Business Development with a strong focus on technology and AI sales for commercial lending clients. This role is responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and driving revenue growth for JazzX AI within financial institutions and related organizations. The ideal candidate has a solid background in enterprise SaaS sales, a fundamental understanding of AI-driven solutions, and experience selling into the financial services industry. 

Key Responsibilities 

Sales Strategy & Execution 

  • Develop and execute a targeted sales plan to achieve revenue growth for selling our AI technology to commercial lending clients, both banks and private lenders focused on e.g., SMB lending, mid-market lending, Asset Based Finance 
  • Identify and qualify prospects by leveraging industry knowledge and networks. 

Client Engagement 

  • Foster relationships with decision-makers (particularly in loan origination and servicing) at banks, non-bank lenders, and other financial institutions. 
  • Present JazzX AI’s value proposition to prospective clients, focusing on how AI-powered solutions transform lending operations. 

Business Development 

  • Expand JazzX AI’s footprint by identifying new opportunities in mid-market lending, SMB lending, or asset-backed finance. 
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and product teams to align go-to-market strategies. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Work with product, marketing, and deployment teams to ensure successful pilots and implementations for new clients. 
  • Provide input on market needs to influence future product roadmaps. 

Sales Performance & Reporting 

  • Track and report on sales activities, pipelines, and forecasts. 
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual and team sales targets. 

Qualifications & Experience 

Industry & Sales Background 

  • 10+ years of overall sales experience, with at least 3–5 years selling technology platforms or digital solutions in financial services. 

Proven track record in enterprise SaaS sales, demonstrating the ability to communicate value propositions and close deals with complex buyer dynamics. 

  • Familiarity with commercial lending workflows (e.g., mid-market lending, SMB lending, asset-backed finance) or experience selling relevant technology platforms (e.g., Loan Origination Systems, Servicing Platforms). 

AI & Technology Insight 

  • Ability to articulate the business impact of AI-driven solutions. 
  • Knowledge of how AI integrates with existing business processes and compliance requirements within financial services. 

Financial Services Knowledge 

  • Understanding of core functions in commercial lending, including relevant regulatory and compliance considerations. 

Communication & Negotiation 

  • Demonstrated ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively. 
  • Skilled at negotiating and closing deals with C-suite and other senior stakeholders. 

Entrepreneurial Mindset 

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. 
  • Self-starter who can independently identify market opportunities and execute effectively.
