Senior Director, Business Development [AI/Technology for Lending Industry] 

Location: US - NY 

Role Overview 

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Director of Business Development who will own and drive sales of our AI/technology solutions in commercial lending segment for JazzX AI. In this leadership role, you will shape the overarching sales strategy, cultivate executive-level relationships, and guide a high-performing team to deliver ambitious revenue targets. The ideal candidate has deep industry expertise, extensive experience in enterprise SaaS sales, and a track record of closing large, complex deals involving AI-driven or transformative technology solutions. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Sales Leadership 

  • Define and refine the overall sales strategy to accelerate growth of our AI technology in commercial lending industry, encompassing mid-market lending, SMB lending, and asset-backed finance. 
  • Oversee execution of sales initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market opportunities. 

Team Management & Mentorship 

  • Build, coach, and lead a high-performing business development team. 
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration, mentoring team members on best practices in complex sales and relationship management. 

Executive Relationship Building 

  • Serve as the executive sponsor for key accounts, cultivating relationships with C-level stakeholders. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor, leveraging deep industry insight to position JazzX AI as a strategic partner. 

Business Development & Partnerships 

  • Leverage an extensive professional network to identify high-value opportunities and strategic alliances. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, marketing, deployment) to support successful client engagements and long-term partnerships. 

Sales Performance & Growth 

  • Establish and track KPIs, ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales quotas. 
  • Influence the product roadmap by communicating market needs, competitive insights, and customer feedback. 

Qualifications & Experience 

Extensive Industry Background 

  • 15–20 years of proven sales experience, with at least 5–10 years selling enterprise technology or digital solutions in financial services. 

Demonstrated success in enterprise SaaS sales, with a history of closing large-scale, multi-stakeholder deals. 

Commercial Lending & AI Expertise 

  • Deep understanding of lending processes (origination, servicing, compliance) and how AI can optimize these functions. 
  • Ability to clearly articulate the ROI of AI-driven solutions and manage complex sales cycles. 

Regulatory & Compliance Awareness 

  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape for commercial lenders, ensuring AI solutions remain compliant. 

Executive Communication & Negotiation 

  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to influence senior-level decision makers. 
  • Extensive relationships with banks, non-bank lenders, and financial institutions at the C-suite or equivalent level. 

Entrepreneurial Mindset 

  • Thrives in a high-growth environment; comfortable navigating ambiguity to seize opportunities. 
  • Proactive and innovative, capable of driving strategy, execution, and continuous improvement.
