JD Property (JDP) is a subsidiary of JD.com it specialises in logistics real estate development, operations, and management. By the end of 2022, it had 23.3 million square meters (~250 million square feet) of logistics, industrial, and data centers in its portfolio. It currently manages 5 active funds and one REIT. Responsibilities:
This outstanding senior leasing position will help grow a diversified and expanding logistics/industrial real estate portfolio in the UK and other parts of Europe. As an integral team member, this position will work closely with the UK asset management and investment team to execute the business plans for various logistics assets across the country. This is a critical position to help drive long-term value creation for JDP’s UK/European assets.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitor market dynamics, conduct analyses, and develop proactive letting strategies.
- Create and execute letting plans, including financial analysis, competitor assessment, and stakeholder coordination.
- Manage occupier relationships, lead renewals, and optimize retention strategies.
- Identify and source new occupiers through research and outreach.
- Collaborate with investment and asset management teams on built-to-suit plans.
- Lead leasing negotiations, oversee contracts, and manage occupancy transitions.
- Coordinate tenant improvements and fit-out plans with internal and external teams.
- Support asset management in maintaining high property management standards.
- Plan and monitor letting and marketing budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Conduct reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis on letting activities.
- Track market trends and organize internal workshops on market insights.
- Assist investment team in underwriting new projects with market-based assumptions.
- Represent the company in external engagements with stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the leasing team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in UK warehouse/industrial asset leasing, including 3+ years in senior leadership.
- Deep expertise in UK logistics/industrial real estate, with valuable but not required knowledge of European markets.
- Experience across diverse asset types, including big box, mid-box, cold storage, urban logistics, and light industrial.
- Proven ability to develop and execute letting strategies, optimize lease renewals, and support build-to-suit projects.
- Strong negotiation skills for leases, renewals, and contract management with external partners.
- Financial acumen to assess letting impacts on project returns and align with asset and investment teams.
- Well-established network in logistics and industrial real estate brokerage, marketing, and advisory sectors.
- Familiarity with Yardi and ARGUS is a plus.
- Strong academic background; professional certifications (MRICS, CFA, CCIM, CAIA) are beneficial but not required.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
