
European Logistics Purchasing Manager
Job Overview:
As the European Logistics Purchasing Manager at JD Logistics, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for transportation, warehousing, and distribution services across Europe. You will play a critical role in optimizing logistics costs, improving service levels, and ensuring supplier compliance. This position requires a strong understanding of the logistics market, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to drive strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies for transportation (road, air, ocean, and rail), warehousing, and last-mile delivery services across Europe.

Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and performance management to ensure cost-effectiveness, service quality, and risk mitigation.

Monitor and analyze market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to inform procurement decisions.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, supply chain, finance, and legal teams, to align procurement strategies with business objectives.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers, negotiating favorable terms and service agreements.

Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service reliability and efficiency.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Utilize data analytics and procurement tools to track performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and enhance decision-making.

Support sustainability initiatives by incorporating environmentally responsible logistics solutions into procurement strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in logistics procurement or supply chain management, preferably within an international or e-commerce logistics environment.

Strong understanding of European transportation networks, warehousing solutions, and market dynamics.

Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost savings and supplier performance improvements.

Experience in managing large-scale RFPs and contract negotiations.

Knowledge of procurement tools, ERP systems, and data analysis techniques.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Proficiency in English and Chinese; additional European languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish) are a plus.
