We are seeking an ambitious and driven Category Lead to manage our Home & Living product assortment, providing the best selection of items for our NL consumers at the best price. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure we offer the best products to our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and shape category strategies and contribute to the growth of a new and dynamic e-commerce business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute category strategies from scratch, aligning with the company’s vision and goals.
- Source, select, and onboard brands and products, managing end-to-end processes from negotiation to launch.
- Build and optimise category storefronts, improving navigation and product discovery for customers.
- Work in a resource-constrained environment, often relying on manual processes while building scalable systems.
- Analyse customer feedback, behavior, and category metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to plan and execute impactful promotional campaigns.
- Manage inventory, pricing, and promotions to drive sales and profitability.
- Thrive in ambiguity, figuring out solutions with limited resources and adapting to a fast-changing environment.
- Bring creative ideas to the table to solve challenges and grow the category in innovative ways.
- Work cross-functionally to align category initiatives with marketing, operations, and tech teams.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience in the Retail/eCommerce sector in Category Management, Buying and/or Trade Marketing within Home & Living in the European market.
- A strong understanding of the market - and a willingness to disrupt the way it currently operates.
- Negotiation skills that not only achieve the best-in-class product margins and customer offer, but also inspire the rest of the team to continuously become better negotiators.
- Highly enthusiastic and entrepreneurial and want to take ownership of responsibilities and show a real drive to get things done at pace.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a natural ability to work with data and draw insights from it that put into plans.
- Ability to learn fast and implement strategies, and analyse data for insights which demonstrate the attitude/senses of an entrepreneur to achieve results.
