The Application Support Engineer will be responsible to install, configure, monitor and maintain software applications. In this role, your duties will include reporting to our senior software engineering team, collaborating with colleagues, and performing successful installation of web and desktop-based applications, DevOps, code migration, installation and troubleshooting standard and custom desktop applications. You will also be required to provide IT support to Jencap users.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Technical Design and Implementation – hands-on expertise in designing enterprise technical platforms; including cloud, vendor & third-party solutions, integrations and application security.
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting web and desktop-based applications.
- Providing application support to clients and colleagues in Jencap.
- Providing software application support.
- Establishing the root causes of application issues, and escalating critical issues to the application team, documenting issue / resolution for future use.
- Consulting with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.
- Managing code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality.
- Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
- Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.
- Systems Planning – experience in information system planning, defining application design for complex, multi-site, multi product organizations.
Overall, Skills:
- Demonstrable experience as an application support engineer in a related field.
- Work with external vendors, evaluate products, conduct POCs as required by the project.
- Assist in defining, implementing, and overseeing technical standards, policies and tools.
- Assist in the estimation of effort and cost of IT projects.
- Support the creation and continuous evaluation/improvement of technical standards.
- Ability to manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor performance.
- Proficiency in determining the causes of application issues and resolution.
- Knowledge of legacy application technologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies
- Knowledge of Azure cloud, a plus
Experience
- 6+ years industry experience
This is a high impact role: Candidates should have a mix of end-user and consulting experience and possess extensive experience in providing application engineer & support in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should possess ability to communicate with highly skilled application teams. The role requires significant multi-tasking, a broad business perspective and conceptual thinking to solve ambiguous problems. Candidates also need to apply substantial depth of knowledge/experience to drive through change.
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The base pay range will be $160,000 to $180,000. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
