The Vice President, Underwriting P&C Binding will play a crucial role in driving renewal and new business underwriting. Managing relationships with clients and partners, and leading our skilled team of insurance professionals in our CA offices.

The VP, Underwriting P&C Binding will work in our Santa Rosa, CA office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the binding team in the pursuit of new business opportunities and expansion of existing programs and all renewal underwriting.
- Manage relationships with clients and partners to ensure satisfaction and compliance with program administration agreements
- Drive the planning process to achieve annual new business goals
- Identify opportunities for product development and negotiate with insurance carriers to enhance program offerings
- Oversee underwriting procedures, guidelines, and best practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and carrier standards
- Foster relationship management with key agents and brokers, striving to exceed customer expectations
- Coach and mentor direct reports, helping them define and achieve common goals
- Evaluate program actuarial results and negotiate with carriers
- Monitor premium and rate variance and participate in state pricing reviews, budget planning, and territory reviews.
- Champion the new ConceptOne (Agency Management System) for full business adoption and process improvement as identified.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business highly preferred
- Minimum of 7 years Commercial Lines Underwriting with minimum 5 years Commercial Line underwriting team leadership experience
- High level of technology literacy related to policy issuance platforms and report creation
- CPCU, CIC designation, a plus
- This person should have excellent presentation skills, be able to effectively communicate with executives, and demonstrate professional tact and social awareness.
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The base pay range for this role will be $200,000 to $250,000. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded. Jencap also offers a range of benefits and programs, based on eligibility, which currently include but are not limited to; comprehensive health care coverage, a 401k plan, and tuition reimbursement.
