We are seeking e Data Analyst to support insurance data analytics, data warehouse operations, and Azure-based production data pipelines. The role requires strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server, Python, and BI reporting tools, along with working knowledge of Data Warehousing and Master Data Management (MDM) concepts within the insurance domain.

The candidate will support production jobs, perform data validation, design ad-hoc scripts, programs, ETL pipelines, and implement small production fixes while ensuring data quality, reliability, and alignment with enterprise data standards.

The Dat Analyst will work on a hybrid schedule from our New York office.

Responsibilities

The Data Warehouse Data Analyst is a hands-on position with a focus on supporting the data accuracy and completeness within the enterprise data warehouse

  • The position will work within IT to help Jencap DWH team to maintain the enterprise data warehouse architecture
  • Perform data analysis and validation on insurance data including policy, claims, customer, premium, and transaction data
  • Extract data from multiple sources/systems to support larger analytics projects and initiatives, Address data gaps across various domains to enhance overall data quality.
  • Support and maintain data warehouse and production ETL pipelines built using Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server, and Azure Blob Storage
  • Support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives by ensuring data consistency, standardization, consolidation, and reference data validation
  • Use BI reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, or similar) to:
    • Validate data accuracy and completeness
    • Perform source-to-target reconciliation
    • Support operational and business validation checks
  • Design and develop ad-hoc ETL processes using ADF and Python for analytics, fixes, and enhancements as part of production support activities
  • Monitor production jobs, troubleshoot failures, and perform root cause analysis daily basis
  • Ability to apply statistical techniques and exploration data analysis using tools such as Python, SQL, or Excel
  • Track scheduled processes (monthly/daily), coordinate with business divisions on data anomalies or missing data, and support production activities
  • Create and maintain technical and functional documentation (requirements, design, process flows)
  • Identify opportunities to improve data processes and analytics solutions using technology
  • Deliver high-quality analytical outputs and visual storytelling to support management decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to support enterprise data initiatives
  • Experience implementing production fixes based on data analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in the Insurance domain, preferably within Brokerage or P&C
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Lakehouse, and Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Hands-on experience supporting production environments on Azure Cloud with SQL Server
  • Apply data warehouse principles, including fact/dimension modeling, historical data management, reconciliations, and data conversions as part of Jenap DWH
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (complex queries, joins, stored procedures, indexing)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python
  • Experience with ETL tools such as ADF, SSIS, Informatica, or DataStage
  • Proficient in MS Excel for data analysis and validation (Pivot Tables, Power Pivot)
  • Experience using BI reporting tools for data validation and reconciliation
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands on experience with API integration
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems - GitHub
  • Nice to have experience for any Master Data Management tool - Profisee

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
