Job Overview
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Fire Engineer specializing in Fire Protection systems design, including Sprinkler systems design for our growing office in Milan. The ideal candidate is an engineer with at least 5 years’ experience

Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of the fire engineering disciplines on site including Inspections of Fire Protection and Detection systems, PA/VA Systems, Compartmentation, Fire Dampers, Smoke Extract/Pressurization systems, Fixed Extinguishing / Sprinkler systems.
Experienced in producing Fire Risk Assessments for all types of buildings, including but not limited to Commercial, Public and Industrial Buildings, in particular in relation to national and international codes and standards Requirements (CEN, UNI, NFPA, FMG).
Experienced in fire safety and protection for all types of buildings, including a wide variety of occupancy types, in particular industrial facilities, commercial buildings, retail complexes, amongst others.
Carrying out functional testing and witness testing of all fire systems, carry out regular site inspection at an early stage to ensure compliance to local codes and regulations, liaise with clients, architects, consultants from other disciplines, and approval authorities, ensuring the fire systems meet the approved cause and effects and producing engineering judgements for review.

- Design and commissioning of fire suppression systems
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations
- Be a key player in Business Development activities
Here’s what you will need
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering Architecture, or related field
- Experience in code consulting, design of fire protection systems, and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment is required
- Registered Professional Engineer
- Experience designing fire suppression systems
- A good proficiency of English, spoken and written, is preferred. JH provide 1:1 English courses to fill gaps, if any.
- Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and good communication and negotiations skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges and wants to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes
