Overview – Role
Jensen Hughes has an opportunity for a Director of Architecture in ROLF JENSEN & ASSOCIATES, INC., MACAU BRANCH. This position is an excellent career opportunity for high-level candidate to bring their accessibility expertise and consulting passion to a multi-disciplined engineering team and grow the accessibility line of services. Responsibilities
- Play highly visible role in various and multi project-related Architect tasks including design review, drawing review, daily coordination, reporting and communication, along with on-site inspections & supervision of system etc.
- Engage in timely and effective communication with designers and consultants involved in this project, ensuring productive collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders.
- Provide endorsement and approval for project-related documents, drawings, letters, and reports, ensuring their accuracy, compliance, and adherence to project requirements.
- Attend project meetings and inspections as required, actively participating in discussions and providing valuable insights to support project progress and decision making.
- Conduct thorough reviews to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations, offering expert guidance and recommendations to align the project design with applicable standards.
- Adhere to and fulfill the requirements of 3rd party consultancy as mandated by Macau Decree Law, ensuring compliance with all legal obligations and regulations.
- Prepare correspondences for design review letter and site inspection report. The design review includes different stage of project through the concept to completion.
- Prepare close out report with recommendations of enhancements and possible improvements.
- Developing new business and extend 3rd party scope by Macau local code, preparation of proposals, and other relevant submissions.
- Independently coordinate with the project team and clients across the sites and meeting as required.
- Responsible for the regular DSSCU meeting and coordinate the DSSCU and other authority department meeting with clients.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
- 10+ years of experience in accessibility consulting.
- Registered and qualified in Macau CAEU with professional license in Architect.
- Holding a Macau DSSCU Architect license within the validity period.
- Solid experience in local statutory license submission, design and code compliance. Particularly for hospitality projects involves IBC and Local design code building is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to DSSCU, CB and other authority department.
- Current knowledge with applicable regulations pertaining to Macau
- Able to perform visual site inspection at construction sites.
- A reasonable understanding of design required.
- Mature, well-organized, self-motivated, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadline while efficiently communicating to multiple stake holders.
- Good expression skills, ability to produce various design review comment and diligence and responsibility.
- Familiar with relevant computer drawing software AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft offices.
- Good command of English.
