Overview – Role
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the global finance team. This role while based in India and will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager in the United States.
In this role ,you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This position is deadline driven and involves a wide range of accounting activities including journal entry preparation, month end close and assisting with year-end audits. You will also compile and analyze account information and maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies within the accounts. As a key member of the Corporate Accounting team, you will have frequent contact with mid-level management and executive financial leadership.
Our India office is based in Worley , Mumbai , India and this role offers hybrid working options while based in Mumbai
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that close deadlines are met
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare cash reconciliations for International bank accounts and addressing reconciling items
- Prepare and perform variance analysis between actual results and prior period results and forecasts/budgets
- Participate in the annual consolidated audit
- Make recommendations and help develop/implement more efficient procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy ensuring compliance with documented internal controls
- Research technical accounting areas as needed and interact regularly with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Accounting groups to facilitate accounting policy and workflow to the general ledger and financial statements
Requirements and Qualifications
- The successful candidate will have a BS in Finance or Accounting (CA highly preferred, not required); 3+ years of applicable experience (public accounting experience is a plus)
- Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and Indian Accounting Standards; proficiency with MS Office (particularly Excel);
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus; Experience with foreign currencies and international accounting principles is a plus; the ability to shift priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required
