The Role:
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Lead Fire Engineer to join our growing team in Seoul, South Korea. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering a range of fire protection engineering and design projects across multiple sectors. This position will involve fire protection mechanical and electrical system design, BIM-based modelling, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring juniors and working closely with clients.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of high-quality fire protection designs, collaborate with architecture, MEP, and structural teams, and support the delivery of innovative and compliant engineering solutions across a variety of projects.
Responsibilities:
Fire Protection Mechanical Design:
• Basic and detailed design of water-based and gas-based fire extinguishing systems, smoke control systems, and related fire protection facilities
• System design in accordance with mathematical calculations and relevant codes and standards (NFSC, NFPA, etc.)
• Preparation and development of design criteria and technical standards
Fire Protection Electrical Design:
• System design and circuit configuration for automatic fire detection and evacuation systems
• Detector layout planning and control panel interlocking logic design
• Coordination and optimisation of interfaces with related engineering disciplines (architecture, electrical, etc.)
3D Modelling (BIM)
• Development of 3D building models and fire protection facility libraries using Revit and Navisworks
• Review and coordination of interfaces with other disciplines (MEP, architectural, structural) to proactively eliminate design clashes and errors
• BIM-based quantity take-offs and enhancement of construction drawing quality
Qualifications & Experience:
• Experienced with 5+ years experience
• Bachelor’s degree (4-year university qualification) or higher (associate degree holders may also apply)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Major in Engineering
• Firefighting Equipment Technician Certification (Mechanical Field)
• Firefighting Equipment Technician Certification (Electrical Field)
Workplace Location:
• 226, Gasan Digital 1-ro, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (Gasan-dong). Located within 500m of Gasan Digital Complex Station (Seoul Subway Line 1)
Working Conditions:
• Employment Type: Permanent
• Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
