Job Overview
As an Industrial Fire/Process Safety Engineer at Jensen Hughes, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of various industrial processes. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of protecting lives, property, and reputations across a wide range of industries. You will work closely with a dynamic team in the Fire & Building Safety department, tackling complex safety challenges and driving innovation in fire protection engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Evaluate industrial processes to identify potential fire and safety hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop Safety Protocols: Design and implement safety procedures and protocols to mitigate risks associated with fire and process safety.
- Collaborate on Projects: Work alongside engineers, surveyors, and other professionals on high-stakes projects, providing technical expertise and guidance.
- Perform Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide Technical Support: Offer technical assistance and advice to clients and project teams regarding fire safety systems and risk management strategies.
- Stay Updated on Regulations: Keep abreast of industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance safety measures.
- Engage in Training: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge in fire safety and risk management.
- Contribute to Research: Engage in research and development initiatives to innovate and improve fire safety technologies and methodologies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: A degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fire safety engineering or process safety management, preferably within an industrial setting.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or similar qualifications are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in fire safety engineering principles, risk assessment methodologies, and safety management systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously assess risks and develop comprehensive safety plans.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing regulations and industry standards, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning.
