Maintenance Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Oversee all maintenance activities, including machine and facility troubleshooting and repair, preventative maintenance, spare parts management, process improvement, facility improvement, and departmental structure and improvement. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations by providing leadership, goal setting, and working with all departments to resolve plant issues. Provide long term resolutions for preventative measures. 
  • Develop training programs with assistance from internal and external resources including vendors and OEM’s. 
  • Maintain processing equipment while ensuring maintenance repairs meet Food Safety standards. 
  • Manage maintenance parts ordering and supplies to minimize equipment downtime. 
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the approved departmental budget. 
  • Overseeing compliance and standard operating procedures with local officials related to fire department regulations, local building permits. 
  • Integral member of the plant safety committee. 
  • Conduct mock OSHA inspections keeping the facility in compliance. 
  • Continuously take independent action, delegate tasks and provide corrective recommendations to the Operations/Engineering Department. 
  • Acting as the company liaison to industrial park representatives, state and local representatives as it relates to emissions, permits and fire regulations. 
  • Maintain strong interdepartmental communication that facilitates goals. 
  • Communicates regularly with all maintenance mechanics concerning maintenance issues. 
  • Manage preventative maintenance, work-order and downtime records to support plant audits and other external and internal requirements. 
  • Provide a safe working environment for all team members. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.  
  • Manage department CMMS software 

 

 

COMPETENCIES:  

 

To perform this job successfully, Maintenance Supervisor must be self-motivated, able to problem solve, detail-oriented, and able to stay on task. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

  • Excellent organization and time management skills. 
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to accomplish a versatile and evolving workload.  
  • Excellent in all forms of communication.  
  • Skilled at PowerPoint design and ideation.  
  • Innovative, problem solver, flexible, and able to juggle multiple priorities. 
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt well to change.   

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • Ten years maintenance experience and broad knowledge of production operations. 
  • 5 years of supervisory, management or leadership role 
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required or equivalent knowledge of experience. 
  • Experience managing CMMS software 
  • Continuous Improvement project management experience preferred. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimal travel requirements  

US Salary Pay Range

$125,000 - $130,000 USD
