
Safety Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
- Performs ongoing safety training for full time and agency employees per OSHA regulations, including monthly make up training as necessary:
- Hazardous Communication
- SDS
- Machine Guarding
- Electrical Safety
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Blood Borne Pathogens
- Lock Out / Tag Out Awareness (Affected employee)
- Fall Prevention
- Evacuation and Drills
- Hearing Conservation
- Fire Prevention and Fire Safety
- Accident Prevention and Awareness
- GHS (Global Harmonized Systems)
- Injury Reporting
- Workplace Violence Prevention
- Performs ongoing food defense training for full time and agency employees per customer requirements:
- Food Defense
- Communicable Disease
- Good Manufacturing Practices
- HACCP / CCP Awareness
- Allergen
- Non-GMO
- SQF
- Conducts facility and departmental inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety concerns and hazards:
- Performs safety walks twice per shift proactively identifying unsafe conditions or acts and implanting corrective actions
- Monitors employees to ensure PPE is consistently worn
- Completes Monthly Safety Inspection
- Assists with annual review of risk assessments
- Assists with annual review of job hazard analysis
- Assist with ergonomic evaluations
- Generation of Safety Work Orders as well as responsibility for auditing completion of safety items on Corrective Action Log
- Create OPL’s based on preventative and corrective measures
- Record and trend data per government, company and customer requirements:
- Track Accidents and Near Miss events on Data Analysis form
- Maintain training matrix for temporary employees
- Maintain Recordable Accident tracking board
- Provide data for customer audits as requested
- Point of contact for annual fire extinguisher and exit sign inspections
- Ensures all forklift and MVT certifications kept current and distribute updated list to of authorized operators monthly to Supervisors. Schedule training for new operators and issue license/certifications.
- Maintains inventory of safety equipment and personal protective equipment. Order PPE as needed.
- Oversees the administration of the safety shoe program.
- Refills first aid cabinets and First Responder bags weekly. Reorder supplies as needed.
- Manages locker program for all full-time employees
- Provides translation services as needed for orientations, company documentation and at employee requests.
- Adheres to all environmental, health and safety requirements and procedures.
- Responsible for food safety and quality.
- Performs all other duties as assigned

- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage projects and work independently
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
- Ability to flex work schedule into off shifts when necessary
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, both verbally and written
- Regular and reliable attendance
