POSITION SUMMARY:  Under the leadership and guidance of the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead will guide, support, and direct production team members to achieve production goals while upholding quality standards and safety protocols. The Production Lead plays an instrumental role in maintaining high-quality production standard and fostering a positive work environment. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

• Plans and executes the setup of lines for the on-time startup of current and future production.  

• Responsible for safety, line direct leadership, area cleanliness, food safety, and overall quality. 

• Trains all production line employees on processes and procedures. 

• Serves as a coach-style team leader works alongside its members to develop their skills. 

• Proactively manages conflict within the team to mitigate issues before they escalate. 

• Identifies team goals and evaluates team progress against the goals throughout the shift. 

• Assists the Production Supervisor by adhering to the direction and goals provided for maintaining yield, efficiency, quality, cleanliness, and safety. 

• Ensures all environmental, health and safety requirements, food safety, and quality policies and guidelines are being followed on the production floor. 

• Consistently communicates in a respectful, clear, and effective manner, promoting teamwork within the production team on all shifts. Monitors overall employee welfare and develops a culture of team building. 

• Regularly monitor shift operations to ensure adherence to company policies and standards: 

• Confirms team members are stationed in designated areas, maintaining standard labor levels, and strictly following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. 

• Supervises job rotations among team members to promote cross-training and maintain operational efficiency. 

• Verifies the accuracy and compliance of all documentation related to production processes. 

• Ensures breaks and lunches are taken punctually, and team members return to their assigned tasks promptly. 

• Oversees periodic cleaning of the production area and equipment to maintain hygiene and safety standards. 

• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor. 

COMPETENCIES:  

To perform this job successfully, the Production Lead must be self-motivated, able to problem solve, detail-oriented, and able to stay on task. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  

• Attention to detail – ability to perform Critical Control Point (CCP) verifications. 

• Ability to demonstrate some mechanical aptitude to assist in routine troubleshooting and basic equipment maintenance. 

• Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and encourage teamwork across the whole team. 

• Responsible for performing all tasks with minimal guidance or supervision. 

• Must be fluent in English (read, write, speak). Fluency in Spanish, a plus. 

• Regular and reliable attendance and in proper uniform. 

• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely. 

• Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt well to change.   

• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
