
QA Technician (2nd Shift)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of raw and finished products. Assure all products produced comply with Philly Swirl Products and customer specifications. Ensure that the plant’s Good Manufacturing Practices are followed daily by all employees. Assist in audits, trainings, QA communications, and compliance. Comply with all Food Safety and Quality Systems requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintaining and enforcing GMPs, Food Safety & Sanitation
- Monitor the HACCP Plan to ensure food safety including any CCP checks
- Perform quality testing on weight, visual, taste, pH lab
- Assist in developing standards, maintain, and implement programs
- Assist in investigating customer complaints
- Assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standard to include HACCP, Food Safety Guidelines and GMP’s
- Actively contributes to the data collection, improvements to process, products, and systems
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment with the assistance of the Quality Assurance Manager
- Interprets and resolves non-conformance issues
- Responsible for inspecting and testing products
- Participate in the day-to-day quality assurance of food products produced and shipped
- Responsible for raw and packaging acceptance and quality monitoring
- Maintaining and organizing product documentation
- Responsible for Quality Assurance inventor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements a plus
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and Food Safety
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Bilingual is a plus
- Legible handwriting, attention to detail
- Ability to operate standard lab equipment
- Excellent time management and task prioritization abilities
- Must be competent in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Sterile handling and testing techniques
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Experience in food/beverage manufacturing is preferred
- Experience with SQF, HACCP, and GMPs is highly preferred
- High School Diploma or GED with excellent mathematical ability is required
- Food science, microbiology, and/or quality assurance experience is preferred
- Technical knowledge & skills: Math, Reading, Writing, Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
