About the Opportunity
As a Research Associate in our Chemical Biology group, you will support a range of mass spectrometry-based activities by developing and running bioanalytical methods and assays for multiple programs at various stages.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, creative, and motivated by a career in analytical drug discovery. They will have a strong background in sample preparation for various assays and small molecule quantification. Experience with mass spectrometry is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for general bioanalytical and ADME assessments for mass spectrometry-based analysis.
- Develop and validate analytical methods to quantify small molecules and metabolites from various biological matrices.
- Assist with routine maintenance and upkeep on mass spectrometers and liquid chromatography systems to ensure they are operating at peak performance.
- Efficiently generate, analyze and present data reports to project teams as well as upload to internal database. Work closely with project teams in the design and execution studies supporting Discovery programs, prioritizing work for execution against timelines.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with approximately 2 years related experience in the contract research or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with small molecule quantitation using MS techniques.
- Hands-on expertise in sample preparation for a variety of assays, including microsomal stability, ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion) assays, solubility testing, and pharmacokinetic (PK) studies.
- Experience operating both Thermo Fisher and Agilent instrumentation/software is desirable.
- Self-starter and eager to learn new skills and techniques.
- Work well both independently as well as in a team-based environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
