About the Opportunity
Jnana Therapeutics is hiring a Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate with a strong scientific drive and passion for innovation in a team-focused environment. This role will conduct cell-based and biochemical assays, develop novel cell models, and investigate compound mechanisms to support pharmacology and drug discovery efforts
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cell culture, as well as develop and characterize novel cell lines and primary cell systems for pharmacology studies and disease modeling applications.
- Screen compounds through various biochemical and cellular assays to support Med Chem design decisions.
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot mechanism of action studies seeking to understand the activity of emerging compounds.
- Perform independent data analysis and interpretation to support outlining of next steps and recommendations on research approach.
- Clearly document and communicate research outcomes to colleagues at team-level and company-level science meetings.
Preferred Qualifications & Past Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or another related field.
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience in a Drug Discovery setting.
- Experience with a broad range of measures including reporter gene assays, HiBit, NanoBRET, MSD/AlphaLISA, construct design, siRNA/shRNA, CRISPR, RNA extractions, RT-qPCR, Western blotting and imaging, ELISA-based assays, Flow cytometry analysis among others.
- Experience with liquid handling/robotics is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in immune cell assays, PBMC isolation, and cell-based in vitro assays.
- Must be a scientifically motivated self-starter, able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and have a high level of independence for planning and executing project requirements in a timely manner.
