Staff Product Designer, Growth

Remote in Canada

This is a remote-first role that can be held in Canada or the United States.

Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, electricians, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want.

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

Jobber is on a mission to empower home service providers to run, grow, and optimize their businesses—transforming the way small businesses operate, scale, and achieve their ambitions. We’re relentlessly customer-focused, embedding deep insights and advanced AI directly into our product to deliver exceptional experiences and tangible results for our customers.

As an instrumental part of the larger Product Development team on Growth and a member of the wider Design Team, you’ll work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to attract, onboard, engage, and retain new customers to Jobber – while achieving our goals for our business. Product Design at Jobber is decentralized, meaning you’ll work as a design leader in tandem with a group of Engineers and Product Managers across the Growth Group. This group is central to the success of Jobber, focused on creating software that delivers value to tens of thousands of people around the world!

The role:

Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you will play a pivotal role in driving Jobber’s next phase of growth. As a Staff Product Designer at Jobber, you will work to turn conceptual ideas into meaningful user experiences. In this role you will be empowered to drive both UI & UX for key initiatives, collaborating closely with other designers on the Growth team as well as Content Design and Design Systems members to achieve success. You’ll play a leadership role in shaping the vision and north star for Growth while ensuring a high bar for new customer success through UX. You will uncover user and business problems and turn them into polished interfaces and amazing experiences through customer research and validation.

As a Staff Product Designer, you will:

  • Be a senior design member of a product group, striving to deliver creative solutions that drive new customer adoption across our product ecosystem.

  • Be a model of design quality - working on the front lines to ensure the Growth team is delivering a high-quality, thoughtful and thorough user experience with all of the work they release.
  • Mentor, mold, and provide feedback to other designers at Jobber as they strive for similar outcomes within their product areas.

To be successful, you should:

  • 6+ years professional experience as a designer in a team setting working with web or mobile SaaS products in a Growth related focus.
  • Experience with e-commerce and/or checkout and payment flows.
  • Is an expert practitioner in their design craft, bringing relevant experience with web or mobile SaaS products, and is capable of delivering thoughtful polished experiences.
  • Has experience in leading qualitative and quantitative research methods to substantiate and validate their product design thinking.
  • Showcases mastery of the tools needed for their craft, and knows which tool to use and when. (we use Figma, Figjam, ChatGPT, pencil and paper and a few others).
  • Possesses expert visual and interaction experience that can be seen through a portfolio.
  • Deeply understands the strategic direction and vision for their working area and ensures all UX efforts are aligned with that direction.
  • Has experience leveraging LLM, or other AI-based technologies in their work as well as in the product experiences they create.
  • Is an expert in collaboration and is all about communication. Understands how design, product, and engineering can partner together to quickly ship high quality experiences at scale.

  • Support for all your breaks: from vacation to rest and recharge, your birthday off to celebrate, health days to support your physical and mental health, and parental leave top-ups to support your growing family.
  • A unique opportunity to build, grow, and leave your impact on a $400-billion industry that has no dominant player...yet.
  • To work with a group of people who are humble, supportive, and give a sh*t about our customers.
