The team:

Business Technology (BizTech) is the engineering team within Business Operations, our internal consulting department – they’re the decision support mechanism that connects data, business insights and an internal tech stack (systems) with the rest of the organization.

The Biztech team develops internal software, integrations and data infrastructure. Our work unlocks improved operational outcomes, workflow efficiencies and new business insights across our organization. We help teams leverage data, tools and technology in order to successfully execute on their own mandates. We research, develop and maintain systems which support other internal teams from an operational and analytical perspective.

The role: 

Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, the Staff Software Engineer will lead the design and execution of complex, cross-functional Salesforce initiatives, influencing how Jobber integrates Salesforce with other systems. This role is critical to ensuring the platform supports and enables our sales and customer success teams to build better relationships with our customers and drive long-term architectural improvements. Our robust internal tools will allow you to directly make an impact in shaping our technical roadmap, resolve complex business challenges, and to deliver scalable solutions that impact multiple teams!

The Staff Software Engineer, Salesforce will:

  • Architect and lead the implementation of new processes and automations in Salesforce aligned with broader business and technical strategies
  • Drive the architectural vision for Salesforce integrations ensuring that third-party tools or apps fully align with Jobber’s long-term technical and business goals
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration and conduct thorough analysis to drive long-term solutions to enhance Salesforce support of Jobber’s business goals
  • Assist in defining and executing the roadmap for the platform that prioritizes system maintenance and improvements to ensure the platform performs well and can scale with Jobber 
  • Lead initiatives to adopt advanced tooling or automation to drive innovation and platform performance at a border scale
  • Strategically optimize business process across teams

To be successful, you should have:

  • Previous experience as an experienced Senior or Staff Software Engineer developing and implementing Salesforce Solutions
  • Extensive experience working with Apex, SOQL/SOSL, LWC, OmniStudio, JSON/XML, JavaScript
  • Extensive experience working with integrations using REST and/or SOAP
  • Experience with Salesforce deployment tooling, with a preference of Gearset
  • Ability to work with Git version control and familiarity with deploying with Git
  • Ample knowledge of Salesforce limits
  • Extensive knowledge of Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
  • Experience with Salesforce declarative programming tools such as Process Builder and Flow Builder/Cloud Flow Designer
  • Experience in working with data migration and import tools such as Data Loader and Data Import Wizard
  • Desire to collaborate. Experience working across multiple business units, comprising many stakeholders and influencing factors. You are team-oriented but able to work autonomously with minimal guidance in a fast-paced environment
  • Ownership and growth mindset.  You are driven to do the right things and often find yourself in the driver’s seat. You are the kind of person who knows what needs to get done and you make it happen while planning for the next stage ahead. You also involve the right people to help you with this
  • Proven troubleshooting experience. You’ll be very familiar with Salesforce best practices and the ability to recommend changes to our process that will increase efficiency for our internal teams
  • Ability to be highly adaptable. You will need to support the high-performing sales and success teams with ad-hoc requests and help in removing barriers/enabling new pathways on an ever-changing landscape
  • A passion for technology. You are naturally curious about technology and tend to be an early adopter for most things (including AI). You appreciate how technology can solve many business problems and are driven to make a lasting impact

It would be really great (but not required) if you had...

  • Experience with Rails
  • Experience with HerokuConnect, Amazon Connect.
  • Experience with AI driven analytics, LLM, BYOLLM
  • Familiarity with building reports and dashboards.
  • Valid Salesforce developer certification

At Jobber you will choose where you do your most impactful work from! You can work from home across Canada, or in a hybrid setting from one of our offices in Edmonton (HQ) Toronto, or Vancouver.

Compensation:

At Jobber, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and supportive of your experience and growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $145,900 CAD, a midpoint of $171,600 CAD, and a maximum salary of $197,400 CAD, designed to reflect the progression from learning the ropes to truly excelling. 

We design our compensation to reflect each new hire's skills, experience, and the complexity of the role, ensuring a fair and competitive salary. Our range is intentionally broad to support growth and long-term impact, with fully established hires typically starting around the midpoint. The higher end of the range is reserved for those who have demonstrated deep expertise and lasting contributions, while offers below the midpoint reflect strong potential with room to develop. This approach ensures that compensation aligns with both an individual's current capabilities and their opportunity for future growth.

Base salary is just one part of a total compensation package that will include equity rewards, annual stipends for health and wellness, retirement savings matching, and an extended health package with fully paid premiums for body and mind.
