We are obsessed with the hero's journey at JobNimbus. Every person has a hero's journey—Hermione Granger, James T. Kirk, Frodo Baggins, Anna & Elsa, Nacho Libre, and even YOU! This is our “call to adventure” to come check out JobNimbus. What do you have to lose? You might make a few new friends, learn about a sick new company doing some amazing things, and maybe even land a new job!

Mission:

Build, scale, and maintain JobNimbus’s subscription, billing, and account management platform using Chargebee and custom backend services. Partner closely with product, finance, and engineering teams to implement complex access profiles, model intricate account hierarchies, optimize subscription lifecycles, and ensure seamless financial data flows.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design, build, and maintain core backend services for subscriptions, billing, invoicing, and account management workflows.

  • Integrate and manage Chargebee as the primary subscription and billing engine, ensuring seamless synchronization between JobNimbus, Chargebee, and downstream systems.

  • Design and implement complex access profiles, role-based access control (RBAC), and authorization models tailored to multi-tenant and enterprise account structures.

  • Model customer account hierarchies (e.g., multi-location, parent-child, enterprise structures) to support granular access permissions and flexible billing models.

  • Write production-ready code in C# and Node.js with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and system reliability.

  • Build event-driven workflows to handle asynchronous billing events, webhook notifications, and automated subscription lifecycles.

  • Partner with product managers, finance, and security stakeholders to translate complex billing logic and access profiles into scalable technical implementations.

  • Drive operational excellence in billing systems, including monitoring, alerting, error handling, and transaction data integrity.

  • Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making within the team.

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to speed up delivery, reduce repetitive code, and improve test coverage.

What Makes You the Hero for This Job:

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend systems.

  • Hands-on experience implementing subscription management platforms like Chargebee (or similar platforms like Stripe Billing, Zuora, or Recurly).

  • Direct experience building complex access control systems, permission frameworks (RBAC/ABAC), and multi-tenant authorization models.

  • Strong understanding of SaaS billing concepts, subscription lifecycles, invoicing, prorations, payment retry logic, and account management structures.

  • Strong backend engineering background in C# and/or Node.js.

  • Experience with event-driven architectures, API design (REST/GraphQL), and integrating third-party SaaS tools.

  • Solid working knowledge of database design (SQL, NoSQL; Couchbase experience is a plus).

  • Experience using cloud services (AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

  • Comfort collaborating across disciplines—especially partnering with finance, product, security, and customer success teams.

  • Good grasp of system reliability, automated testing, logging, and observability in production applications.

 Superpowers:

  • Extreme Ownership. You own the outcomes, drive initiatives, and solve problems proactively. If you need direction and someone to hold your hand, this job is not for you.
  • Customer Obsessed. Everything we build should leave our customers saying, "Aw dip. This product is off the charts cool. Whoever wrote that code deserves a raise!"
  • Proactive Learning. You stay ahead of the curve, continuously learning and implementing cutting-edge technologies.
  • Team Commitment. You build, mentor, and lead a high-performance engineering team that delivers results together.
  • Self Awareness. You know your strengths, weaknesses, and how to surround yourself with the right talent to succeed.
