Description of the role


We are looking for an Associate Campaign Manager with experience working on Climate Action to join our Brazil team. This person will be responsible for planning and executing social impact campaigns, supporting the development of communication strategies and building effective performance indicators. 

The person in this role will (1) lead  networking and community management, mapping and connecting actors and partners for collaborative campaigns, identifying new opportunities for partnership and articulation; (2) identify  intervention opportunities to increase the impact of campaigns and (3) support in the development of projects that serve as opportunities for fundraising. 

The ideal candidate will blend climate expertise with campaigning skills, effectively  designing projects, engaging stakeholders, and inspiring systemic change through an evidence-based approach. They will also be expected to have a strong understanding of research, impact measurement and evaluation principles, a high level of attention to detail, and strong communication and collaboration skills.This is  a Full Time position offered at the Associate Manager tier with a salary starting at R$ 9.000, as well as meal vouchers, health insurance, and other benefits. This is a remote position, with occasional travel as needed in the course of project delivery. The role reports to the Associate Director of Campaigns in Brazil, Familiarity with Climate Action and English Fluency are  requirements for this role. 

Responsibilities: 

Campaign Strategy:

  • Lead the development of climate campaign strategies that mobilize people toward concrete actions in defense of the environment.
  • Analyze the landscape of current climate issues and identify opportunities for strategic interventions to generate significant impact.
  • Develop innovative approaches to engage new audiences in critical climate-related topics, leveraging creative campaign concepts and content grounded in deep strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Create impactful narratives about climate change and identify opportunities and channels to share stories that inspire action and transformation.

Campaign Creation and Execution

  • Plan, create, and execute engagement and mobilization campaigns, from research and conception to final execution, playing a central role in the development of strategic content, such as social media copy.
  • Proactively seek new approaches to climate campaigns and integrate them into Purpose's work.
  • Demonstrate fluency in using digital tools for campaigns, leading the definition of monitoring metrics and sharing data-driven results.
  • Oversee the development of climate campaign content in partnership with the Purpose creative team, including videos, graphics, and websites that expand public reach and engagement.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies using both online and offline tactics.
  • Create briefs for creative teams and collaborate on campaign opportunities, co-developing engaging creative concepts.
  • Assist in creating campaign reports with results and lessons learned.

Identification of Opportunities

  • Quickly and precisely identify intervention opportunities to increase the impact of campaigns and make the necessary strategic adjustments.
  • Assist in managing relationships with funders of the Climate Lab  and other Purpose initiatives.
  • Identify rapid response campaign opportunities based on current news in mainstream media outlets and conversations on social media.

Network Coordination and Community Management 

  • Identify and coordinate with actors and partners to develop and execute collaborative campaigns.
  • Maintain active and close relationships with key representatives of organizations for projects and campaigns.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with actors and partners who are already part of established networks.
  • Guide and support the development of campaigns for partner organizations.
  • Coordinate a network of organizations in the Amazon and/or Cerrado regions around advocacy strategies and actions during key political moments.

Team Management & Leadership

  • Support in the management of employees hired per project and in the promotion of an equitable and diverse environment.
  • Support in mapping and managing partners for project execution.
  • Support in defining broad strategic guidelines for campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and impact goals.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment, promoting the training and mentoring of team members to develop their  talents.

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of experience in creating and mobilizing campaigns for climate issues.
  • Knowledge in the area of ​​climate (challenges, opportunities, organizations, etc.).
  • Experience with writing creative briefs.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to receive and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong storytelling and strategic thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with digital campaigns and movement building, and/or issues of high relevance to Purpose's mission.
  • Willingness to build an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Advanced English (read materials and participate in meetings in English with the global team).

Selection Process

  • Candidates shortlisted in the first round will be invited to participate in a time-bound written assignment to assess their skills.
  • Candidates shortlisted in the second round will be invited to participate in 1-2 interviews before an offer is extended to the selected candidate.
