Associate Campaigner, Indonesia (Contractor)

Indonesia

About Purpose

Purpose is a revolutionary and rapidly growing social business with deep expertise in creating and scaling movements that have significant social impact. We create and launch new ventures and organizations in the areas where we can make the most difference, and deploy our experience as movement creators to consult to the world’s leading corporations, foundations and non-profits, helping put purpose and participation at the core of what they do.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a campaigner, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering campaigns that are rooted in Indonesia’s social, political, and cultural realities. You will work closely with project leads, creative teams, and partners to translate strategic objectives into campaigns that are relevant, credible, and impactful for local audiences.

This role sits between strategy and execution. You will be expected to co-lead campaign design, take clear ownership of delivery, and exercise sound judgment in fast-moving and sometimes sensitive contexts—while remaining grounded in community realities and stakeholder dynamics in Indonesia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Co-develop campaign strategies that are locally grounded, including audience prioritisation, messaging, narrative framing, and tactical approaches aligned with project objectives.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day campaign planning and delivery, ensuring activities run smoothly, on time, and within agreed budgets.
  • Design and deliver offline and online campaign activities such as community meetings, co-creation workshops, roadshows, public discussions, creative activations, and expert dialogues.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local partners and stakeholders, including civil society organisations, community groups, media, content creators, researchers, faith-based actors, youth networks, and cultural communities.
  • Conduct ongoing social listening and contextual scanning—monitoring public discourse, media, and community conversations to identify emerging opportunities, risks, and moments for campaign intervention.
  • Develop practical insight briefs (media, digital, and on-ground) that reflect local trends and inform campaign decisions and execution plans.
  • Co-create clear and realistic implementation plans with project teams, ensuring alignment on scope, roles, timelines, and resources.
  • Identify and support digital engagement opportunities, including experimenting with formats and platforms relevant to Indonesian audiences.
  • Build direct engagement with campaign audiences, ensuring campaigns remain responsive to feedback and lived realities on the ground.
  • Support the use of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) tools to track campaign progress and contribute to learning and iteration.
  • Support vendor and partner coordination, including briefing, follow-ups, and ensuring quality and alignment with campaign goals.
