Group Creative Director
Purpose
Responsible for the conception, creation, and execution of all innovative brand-related ideas; the supervision and guidance of the total creative effort of a number of copywriters and/or art directors; and operates as the creative brand team leader on one or multiple brands.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the quality, craft, and implementation of all work done on assigned accounts and by assigned teams
- Ensures the development of extraordinary work
- Manages and mentors a team of creatives, including conducting performance reviews
- Provides opportunities for learning and growth for all creative team members
- Informs and supports the Co-Chief Creative Officers on all creative issues dealing with his/her brand teams
- Functions as the lead in the conception, design, and creation of content for print, digital, broadcast, and multimedia creative
- Works with Strategic partners to develop strategies that will lead to and support great work
- Presents creative strategies and concepts to clients, both internally and externally
- Understands the Client’s business, brand, products, and their customers
- Serves as liaison between client and creative group, communicating the vision of the creative group to the client
- Is responsible for presenting to clients and helps structure powerful selling arguments for work
- Strategize with the brand team to anticipate problems, analyze solutions, identify alternatives, and suggest recommendations
- Ensures management practices within the department are professional, timely, and in the best interest of McKinney’s profitability
- Supports overall department growth in developing internal workflow solutions
- Collaborates with other departments to streamline information flow
- Takes an active role in educating, proselytizing the power of creativity throughout the agency
- Shares personal creative product with the rest of the agency
- Always current and even ahead of creative trends in the industry
- Must coach and inspire others; provide day-to-day coaching for direct reports, regular development conversations and performance evaluations

Professional Skills & Knowledge
Previous management and/or mentoring experience; must have excellent presentation skills, including strong relationship and customer service skills; must present a strong creative portfolio.
Experience
Ideal candidate has 12+ years of experience in a senior creative role in advertising. Exceptions are made based on experience, level of work pertaining to creative product and creative management abilities.
Salary Range
Our estimated range for this role is $215k - $275k
Compensation packages are based on the skill level and experience each candidate brings to their role. There may also be a more senior or junior position available that could be a better fit with your expertise. Each level has its own compensation range.
