Technical Recruiter
About Us

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Recruiter to join our team in Houston. This is not a generalist recruiting role, we are looking for someone with deep technical knowledge and agency recruiting experience who has successfully placed talent in areas such as software engineering, IT, product management, and technical marketing.
The ideal candidate will bring prior hands-on technical experience (such as development, engineering, systems, or product work) combined with a strong record of success in an agency recruiting environment. This background ensures you can understand technical requirements at a granular level while also driving hiring results in fast-moving, competitive markets.
This is a high-visibility role where you will partner directly with leadership to shape the technical talent strategy that supports the firm’s continued growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle recruitment process for technical hires including IT, development, systems, product management, and technical marketing roles.
- Build and execute advanced sourcing strategies to uncover passive and hard-to-find candidates.
- Leverage your technical expertise to evaluate candidate qualifications and communicate credibly with technical professionals.
- Partner with hiring managers and executives to define role requirements and build tailored recruitment campaigns.
- Deliver a positive, professional candidate experience while representing JLG as an employer of choice.
- Maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system and report on recruitment activity and metrics.
- Share knowledge and mentor colleagues on technical recruiting best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Prior hands-on technical experience (e.g., software development, systems engineering, product, or other technical roles).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an agency recruiting environment, with a track record of filling technical, product management, or technical marketing positions.
- Strong understanding of technical job functions, product/marketing skill sets, market trends, and sourcing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and assess highly technical candidates.
- Experience using ATS platforms, sourcing tools, and recruitment analytics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience recruiting in both agency and in-house/corporate settings.
- Established network within IT, development, product, or technical marketing communities.
- Advanced Boolean search and technical sourcing expertise.
