Join our incredible team at Affect as we expand our revenue and credentialing operations group. We are seeking an experienced Lead Billing Specialist that is detail oriented and has bias for action to ensure accurate reimbursement for Affect's telehealth substance use treatment services.  Success in this role requires strong multi-tasking skills to manage the responsibilities of reviewing member accounts, verifying coding accuracy, submitting claims, and following up on rejections to maximize revenue on behalf of Affect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.
  • Ensure accurate billing for telehealth services related to substance use treatment, including opioid use disorder.
  • Verify coding accuracy and compliance with payer guidelines for substance use treatment.
  • Resolve claim rejections and denials promptly, re-submitting claims as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer-specific billing guidelines for telehealth services.
  • Collaborate with the Denials Management team to improve claim resolution rates.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably in telehealth or substance use treatment.
  • Knowledge of medical billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) and payer policies specific to substance use disorder.
  • Familiarity with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience for taking proactive initiative to solve problems
  • Bias for action - Affect is a fast-paced work culture
  • Relative work experience within environments that required flexibility and the ability to adapt to change is essential
