Forage is a mission-driven payments company that is helping merchants accept government benefits through a single, unified API. Today, over 42 million Americans receive government assistance (ex: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP) to buy groceries.

Starting with enabling EBT SNAP online, Forage builds the financial infrastructure empowering merchants of all shapes and sizes to serve these shoppers online.

What we are looking for:

Forage is looking for an individual experienced in strategic partnerships to expand Forage’s transaction volume, foster long-term partnerships, and identify and execute on growth initiatives that enhance our offering and market position.

This is a business critical role to Forage as it scales its revenue via core partnerships and new markets. To be successful, this person will need to be highly strategic, analytical, motivated, and adaptable. This person should feel comfortable navigating ambiguity with little guidance, incredibly persistent, and a quick learner, with the desire to jump into entirely new concepts and become an expert quickly. They will need to be a team-first, culture builder who can both think strategically and execute efficiently and effectively.

They will work closely with BD, Product, Legal, and Merchant Operations Leadership, and regularly engage with other cross-functional stakeholders. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Experience in partnerships, enterprise account management, or related roles, with a focus on building relationships in E-Commerce, Grocery retail, Consulting, Payments/FinTech, or B2B. Must have experience communicating/influencing C-level business decision makers. 
    • 7+ years professional experience
    • 4+ years of enterprise account management or strategic partnerships experience 
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Proven Success: Demonstrated success in developing and managing enterprise partnerships that drive business growth, brand awareness, and market expansion. Experience supporting complex deals, including commercials and contracts.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically, identify revenue growth opportunities, translate vision into actionable plans with cross-functional teams, and influence partners on adoption. Positive attitude with the desire to solve tough challenges and build culture. 
  • Excellent Communicator: Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels and deliver customized QBRs supported by individualized data analysis.. 
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships. 
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines. Excitement about working in a fast-paced and dynamic early-stage startup environment (both its many rewards and its challenges).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Existing Partnerships: Cultivate and nurture relationships with current partners, ensuring ongoing alignment with business goals and maximizing mutual value. 
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with BD leadership to develop partnership strategies and translate them into actionable plans. Define and align KPIs with partners to ensure mutual programmatic success. Collaborate closely with Marketing and Product teams to identify opportunities to drive shopper discoverability and conversion for Forage. 
  • Execution of Strategic Plans: Implement initiatives that align with Forage’s long-term growth objectives and plans by delivering custom QBRs, securing partner buy-in, and collaborating cross-functionally to expand partnership reach and increase transaction volume.
  • Performance Analysis & Evaluation: Monitor, analyze, and report on partnership performance to evaluate its impact on revenue, retailer growth, and platform penetration, while identifying opportunities to inform and enhance growth strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Bring partnerships to life with cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Product, and Marketing to ensure successful execution of partnership programs and integration with Forage’s broader strategy; including: launching and scaling platform and marketplace partners, prioritization of new products and product features based on partner feedback, and building  B2B and B2C marketing campaigns for partners. 
  • Market & Trend Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities to drive strategic decision-making and innovation in partnership development. 
  • Cross-Selling New Tender Types and Growth Opportunities: Determine opportunity sizing for new tender types and other growth levers and partner with BD to cross-sell where relevant and impactful. Ensure mutually beneficial terms and long-term relationship sustainability.

 

Our offer:

  • Your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
    • Strategic Partner: $140,000-$160,000 base salary plus variable compensation.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
