Product Manager, Payments Expansion

San Francisco, CA (Hybrid) or New York, NY (Hybrid)

About Us:

Forage is building the modern payments stack that powers inclusive commerce. Our technology enables grocers, delivery platforms, and point-of-sale systems to seamlessly accept EBT payments both online and in-store. Beyond infrastructure, we’re helping SNAP EBT shoppers stretch their grocery budgets every week, making healthy food more affordable and accessible to the 42 million Americans on food assistance.

Backed by leading fintech investors, Forage is a fast-growing startup with a clear vision and real-world impact, feeding tens of thousands of families daily. Our team is made up of kind, driven individuals who take ownership, move quickly, and collaborate closely. We value humility, curiosity, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

We’re not just building payments infrastructure — we’re helping feed tens of thousands of families each day, and transforming grocery access for millions more. Watch our story and see why we do what we do.

What we are looking for:

An action-oriented builder to lead strategy and execution expanding our payments platform beyond our rapidly growing EBT payments product with a focus on health-related payment products.

You’ll help scale up our HSA/FSA payments product from new offering to a best-in-class product complementing our rapidly growing EBT payments product. HSAs alone represent a $150B market, and Forage is uniquely positioned to help more merchants accept HSA/FSA payments more easily using our expertise in regulated payments and existing integrations with top retailers and commerce platforms.  We’ve launched our first HSA/FSA customer and are looking for a product manager who is excited to scale this major new business line.

Additionally, you’ll play a foundational role in evaluating and driving our investments to add more payment methods as we deepen the value business customers can receive from a single Forage payments integration.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a product manager shipping products with significant impact on revenue, adoption, and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated success at driving product quality improvements, innovation, and adoption by leveraging insights from product analytics, end-user and B2B customer interviews, experiments, and additional sources of evidence.
  • Experience finding creative ways to scale product distribution. You’re excited to collaborate with counterparts in engineering, sales, and marketing to build and refine our GTM motion and to deepen our competitive strengths.
  • Outstanding communication skills. You’re comfortable persuasively conveying ideas to diverse audiences internally and externally and have stories to prove it.
  • Interest and passion for building in complex domains such as fintech, legal tech, payments, or healthcare.
  • Strong alignment with our core values, especially “Mission-first” and “Act like an owner.” Forage offers the rare opportunity to make major improvements to how we pay for some of the most important things in life, and we’re seeking someone excited about making the most of this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rally teammates across functions (including engineering, design, data science, GTM, and legal) to make our initial business customers highly successful with our new HSA/FSA payments product.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to ship new products and features that delight customers at high velocity.
  • Shape our payments product expansion strategy and roadmap in partnership with business customers, ecosystem partners, end-users, and Forage’s GTM team.
  • Build feedback loops that allow your team to learn from stakeholders and the broader industry.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to identify and prioritize opportunities to build new products or features and improve existing ones.
  • As an early member of the product team, shape the culture of the organization with a focus on making a positive impact for our business customers, end-users, and other stakeholders.

Our Offer:

Your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.

  • Compensation $150-$175k USD base + equity + benefits
  • Meaningful work that makes a positive impact on our society.
  • 100% of Medical, Dental and Vision premium coverage for yourself and dependents.
  • Enjoy regular team lunches at our San Francisco and New York offices, fostering collaboration and connection over great food.
  • A fun and caring environment that prioritizes transparency, growth, and ownership.
  • A talented, diverse, high-achieving, and humble team with diverse backgrounds and viewpoints.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
