What we are looking for:

A Solutions Engineer with outstanding technical, communication, and interpersonal skills. You’ll help prospective customers understand how they can best integrate with Forage, collaborating with them to design technical solutions that meet their needs. You’ll play a key role moving customers more smoothly and efficiently through pre-sales towards contract signature and integration kickoff.

Technical sales skills are critical in this role: you’ll use yours to craft compelling slides, narratives, and demos that help prospects understand and value Forage’s key differentiators. You’ll also help Forage continue to innovate by acting as a critical link between customers and other teams at Forage, such as sales, product, operations, legal, and engineering. Balancing speed to market and scalability, you’ll advocate for integration designs that leverage Forage’s existing features and APIs wherever possible while thoughtfully identifying opportunities to improve our existing services and helping us shape and prioritize any functionality required to make new customers successful.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar customer-facing engineering role (e.g., solutions architect, sales engineer, or partner engineer) managing relationships with executives and decision-makers in engineering, product, and finance/accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience helping engineers understand and integrate with API-based software products.
  • Executive engagement skills and presence. You’re a practiced storyteller and are comfortable articulating recommendations to senior leadership and individual engineers alike.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, comfortable explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interest in building feedback loops and systems to help Forage learn from customers and continuously improve our products.
  • Experience using programming languages such as Python and JavaScript, as well as data analysis using SQL, to solve real-world business problems. Preferably, you’ve integrated API-based services into an application firsthand.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity to help customers build compliant and technically viable integrations, preferably in fintech.
  • Experience building pitch decks, writing integration guides, building feature demos, and creating other resources to shepherd customers through enterprise sales cycles.
  • Strong organizational/time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities while working with multiple customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help technical teams at our prospective customers understand how to integrate with Forage and what sets Forage apart from the competition from a technical perspective.
  • Demonstrate how Forage’s products and services can help customers achieve their business goals through individually tailored pitch decks, product demos, integration guides, live conversations, and more.
  • Inspire trust in your stakeholders by quickly and efficiently helping them resolve technical and architectural challenges.
  • Work closely with sales team members to advance conversations account-by-account and to resolve integration issues that go beyond the most obviously technical ones, such as questions related to accounting, security, and compliance.
  • Build playbooks, templates, FAQs, and other internal and external materials to make the pre-sales process more repeatable and scalable.
  • Advocate for customers’ needs in the product prioritization process and proactively build systems to help Forage triage and prioritize feature requests and opportunities to improve features and innovate in new ways.

Our Offer:

    • Enjoy regular team lunches at our San Francisco office, fostering collaboration and connection over great food.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
