About The Role
We are seeking a meticulous and detail oriented Authorization Specialist to manage and coordinate the insurance authorization process for behavioral health services. In this role, you will be a critical link between providers, patients, and insurance companies, ensuring that all services are pre-approved and compliant with payer guidelines. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of insurance policies, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and verify prior authorizations for behavioral health services, ensuring compliance with insurance payer guidelines.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to ensure a seamless authorization process.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of authorization requests, approvals, denials, and follow-ups.
- Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and payer-specific policies.
- Proactively track pending authorizations and resolve any delays or denials by coordinating with relevant parties.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to determine eligibility for services.Identify and resolve discrepancies in insurance claims, billing, or authorizations.
- Generate and maintain authorization reports for internal teams and management, highlighting key metrics and trends.
- Drive organization and process optimization on authorization processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in insurance authorization, medical billing, or a related role in healthcare.
- Proficiency in healthcare management systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, or similar) and GSuite.
- Strong understanding of insurance policies, medical terminology, and authorization processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with providers, patients, and insurance representatives.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing complex records and documentation.
- Proactive approach to resolving authorization and billing issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple authorization requests and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work 5 days a week in our Bengaluru office with a fully in-person team.
