E-Commerce Manager
Department: E-Commerce & Marketing
Employment Type/Category: Full-Time
Work Location: In-Office - 5 days a week in New York City HQ in Midtown.
About Jomboy Media:
Jomboy Media is a creator-led sports media company and official MLB Media Partner built for the next generation of fans. Through flagship shows like Talkin' Baseball and our own backyard sports league, The Warehouse Games, we reach a growing community of hyper-engaged sports fans across YouTube, podcasts, and social platforms.
We're storytellers and community builders, blending insight and entertainment in ways traditional sports media never could. That same DNA flows directly into Slash Line, our e-commerce site, built for fans who want to take their love of the game off the screen and into their everyday lives. From the content to the checkout, everything we make is designed with the real baseball fan in mind.
About the Role:
We’re looking for an E-Commerce Manager to own and optimize the day-to-day performance of our Shopify storefront. This person will report directly to the VP of Commerce and Marketing and play a central role in driving site conversion, guiding merchandising decisions, managing paid acquisition efforts, and helping shape future product strategy through strong analytical insight.
This role is ideal for someone who is equal parts operator, marketer, analyst, and merchandiser — someone who is deeply comfortable in Shopify, highly fluent in numbers, and able to translate store performance and customer behavior into clear recommendations across marketing, product, and operations. Because the store is focused on MLB-licensed apparel, experience in apparel, licensed products, or fan merchandise is especially valuable. A love of baseball is a major plus.
Core responsibilities
- Own the performance of the Shopify store, with a focus on conversion rate optimization, cart optimization, merchandising, and overall customer purchase flow.
- Build, launch, and optimize product pages, including product setup, imagery coordination, merchandising structure, upsells, bundles, and other on-site best practices designed to improve conversion and average order value.
- Monitor and improve site performance through testing, funnel analysis, landing page optimization, cart and checkout improvements, and ongoing review of customer behavior and purchase trends.
- Manage paid advertising efforts across channels such as Meta and Google, either directly or in coordination with outside partners. Track performance closely and continuously evaluate return on ad spend, customer acquisition efficiency, and channel effectiveness.
- Manage email marketing, including both campaigns and programmatic flows. Track performance and relentlessly optimize via testing.
- Work closely with the design team to communicate performance metrics, customer trends, and merchandising insights in a way that paints a clear picture of what is working, what is not, and where future product opportunities may exist.
- Use analytics to tell a story by turning site data, campaign performance, product trends, and customer behavior into actionable insights that guide decisions across marketing, merchandising, and product development.
- Own relationships with third-party fulfillment companies and outside vendors, helping ensure strong communication, smooth execution, and accountability across fulfillment, operational support, and external partners.
- Manage outsourced customer service partners and use customer service feedback, recurring questions, complaints, and product-level issues to improve product assortment, merchandising decisions, and the overall customer experience.
- Oversee inventory management and inventory health, including product availability, stock awareness, sell-through trends, and coordination with internal teams, third-party partners, and fulfillment providers. Experience working within or alongside an ERP system is a plus.
- Coordinate with the content and social media side of the business to maximize the reach of products, support launches and campaigns, and ensure e-commerce priorities are reflected in broader audience-facing efforts.
- Partner closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure launches, promotions, and product updates are executed accurately and on time.
Required qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing a Shopify store, with clear ownership over site performance.
- Strong experience with conversion rate optimization, cart optimization, merchandising, and customer journey improvement.
- Paid advertising experience, including campaign management, reporting, and performance analysis.
- Experience with enterprise email marketing software such as Klaviyo.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including comfort building reports, organizing large data sets, and pulling actionable insights from performance data.
- Experience working cross-functionally with creative or design teams and communicating quantitative insights in a way that helps inform future creative and product decisions.
- Experience managing vendor, freelancer, agency, fulfillment, or outsourced partner relationships.
- Strong inventory management experience in an e-commerce environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Experience with inventory forecasting, replenishment planning, or multi-channel commerce is a plus.
- Experience in apparel, licensed products, sports merchandise, or fan-focused e-commerce is a plus.
- Interest in or love of baseball is a plus, especially given the MLB focus of the store.
