As we expand into the watch category, we’re looking for a visionary, experienced, and entrepreneurial leader to spearhead this growth. 

 

We’re seeking a Watch Specialist to lead, build, and scale our watches category. This person will be responsible for category strategy, client development, acquisition and curation of timepieces, and overall sales performance within the vertical. The ideal candidate has deep industry relationships, a nuanced understanding of collector and buyer behavior, and a strong commercial mindset. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of watches at a fast-growing platform with a global audience. 

What you get to do: 

Category Leadership & Strategy 

  • Develop and own JOOPITER’s global strategy for watches, aligned with brand ethos and revenue targets. 
  • Identify and curate unique, high-value, and culturally resonant watch consignments and collections for both Auction & Marketplace. 
  • Set pricing strategy, positioning, and go-to-market plans for auctions and direct sales. 
  • Responsible for providing Cataloging & Estimates of watches being offered for sale  

  • Create detailed descriptions and lot essays for each lot in the sale, helping educate the JOOPITER community, and elevate items through positioning within proper historical/cultural context  

Client & Consignor Development 

  • Leverage and expand your network of collectors, dealers, brands, and consignors to grow JOOPITER’s pipeline. 
  • Represent JOOPITER at key watch events, auctions, trade shows, and client meetings. 
  • Provide concierge-level service to high-value buyers and consignors, ensuring trust and repeat engagement. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with marketing, content, creative, legal, and operations to ensure seamless execution of watch sales. 
  • Collaborate with product and tech teams to enhance the digital experience for watch collectors and consignors. 
  • Work closely with leadership to align watch category performance with broader company goals. 

  • Directly contribute to content creation for social and various other marketing campaigns. 

P&L and Performance 

  • Own revenue and margin targets for the category; monitor performance and adjust tactics as needed. 
  • Analyze sales trends, buyer behavior, and competitor activity to inform ongoing strategy. 
  • Secure consistently profitable sales though effective cost and margin management.  

 

What you bring: 

  • 8+ years of experience in luxury watches, auctions, retail, or private advisory. 
  • Deep industry relationships across collectors, dealers, and brands. 
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of sourcing and selling high-value timepieces. 
  • Passion for storytelling, provenance, and cultural context in luxury goods. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build from the ground up. 
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills. 
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
