Senior Interior Design Manager
We are looking for an accomplished Senior Interior Design Manager to join Journey’s award-winning ICRAVE Physical Design Team at our new studio in London!
About the ICRAVE Physical Design Studio:
Our physical design studio was formed through the acquisition of ICRAVE (www.icrave.com) in December 2021, an industry thought leader in strategy, interior, and experience design. ICRAVE has collaborated with Fortune 500 brands and up-and-coming companies across a variety of sectors, including health care, airport & transportation, restaurants and hospitality, sporting stadiums, entertainment ventures, and commercial real estate across the world. The business was founded by Lionel Ohayon in 2002, a visionary in architectural and experience design, who is both a Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Journey. Together, ICRAVE and our immersive studio, Squint/Opera formed Journey, the first agency with proven expertise blending the physical and virtual worlds at a global scale.

About the Position:
We’re expanding our global presence with our new ICRAVE physical design studio in London!
As our Senior Design Manager, you are the right-hand to our London Studio Principal, providing strategic leadership, creative oversight, and quality control to lead and drive our projects from inception to completion. You will play a huge role in growing our new London studio, establishing processes and best practices, leading, inspiring, and mentoring our talented design team, and cultivating relationships with clients and prospective clients throughout EMEA. The Senior Design Manager will work cross-functionally with our Immersive team and external consultants, vendors, and partners to help create and produce beautiful interiors that align with our design standards and exceed client expectations. You can expect to travel to site locations throughout Europe and the Middle East.
On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to:
- Lead the design team in partnership and collaboration with our London Studio Principal
- Develop and implement strategic plans for interior design initiatives, aligning with the overall business objectives and market trends.
- Oversee all aspects of design projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships, effectively communicating design concepts and progress updates, and addressing any concerns or feedback.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to source materials, furniture, and fixtures, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Manage project budgets and resources effectively, optimizing allocation to maximize project outcomes while minimizing costs and waste.
- Conduct thorough quality checks throughout the design process to ensure adherence to design specifications, building codes, and regulations.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges proactively, devising contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure project continuity.
About You:
To thrive in this role, you must be a creative visionary and a stellar project and time manager who can handle several projects with changing requirements, client requests, and tight deadlines. You have led and mentored a team of junior designers while taking a ‘hands-on’ approach to all phases of the design process. Successful candidates should have extensive relevant experience in architectural and interior design in healthcare, hospitality, and entertainment, with demonstrated experience pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation.
You are also:
- Experienced in hospitality, entertainment, and/or healthcare design, particularly within the Middle East
- A strong communicator with the ability to clearly express ideas thoroughly
- Comfortable with and experienced in identifying and creating new business opportunities
- Fluent in AutoCAD 2020, AGI132 and Revit
- Proficient in Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Knowledgeable of 3D Studio Max and Rhino is a plus but not required
- Some exposure or interest in AR/VR and other immersive technologies

Salary Pay Range
£80,000 - £95,000 GBP
