The Role
JPA Health is actively seeking an Executive Creative Director (ECD) to inspire our clients and teams with the potential of bold, big ideas that transform our world; deliver irresistibly engaging creative campaigns; spark dramatic behavior change across a variety of audiences, including HCPs and patients; and deliver business results that are impossible to ignore – all in service of our mission to help people live healthier lives.
As a visionary creative leader, you will set the overall creative direction for one of the most exciting global healthcare agencies in the market. You will be a senior leader in a team that brings together sophisticated data analytics, deep audience understanding, omnichannel engagement strategies and powerhouse creative to deliver transformational results to our clients – and growth for the agency and its employees.

This position is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York, Boston or Philadelphia. Our hybrid model brings teams together in a JPA office two days per week.
The Responsibilities
Creative Leadership & Vision
- Serve as JPA Health’s leading advocate for the power of big ideas to change hearts, minds, behavior – and fundamentally transform how we see our world.
- Define and execute the creative vision for the agency and our clients, ensuring alignment with client goals and agency growth objectives
- Deliver irresistibly engaging creative campaigns that make our clients and competitors take notice.
- Push creative boundaries, staying ahead of – or even establishing new – industry trends.
- Inspire, mentor, and lead a full-service, multidisciplinary creative department that cares deeply about its work and each other.
- Uphold brand standards and ensure creative consistency for all client projects, championing creative excellence across everything we do.
Communication & Collaboration
- Provide hands-on direction in concept development, design, and art execution.
- Support collaboration across analytics, strategy, omnichannel engagement and account teams.
- Demonstrate aptitude for applying sophisticated data analytics, deep audience understanding and omnichannel engagement strategies to deliver transformational creative thinking.
- Embrace a dynamic and growing client portfolio, including top pharmaceutical and health technology companies, purpose-driven non-profit organizations, and life-saving government initiatives.
- Partner with account teams and clients to understand strategic objectives and ensure creative solutions exceed their expectations.
- Present creative concepts, striking the ideal balance between bold ideas and practical execution.
- Collaborate with agency operations to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and represent the highest quality.
- Nurture a strong network of creative talent.
Category Expertise
- Oversee creation of integrated pharmaceutical marketing campaigns, including digital, print, video, and experiential.
- Ensure all creative work adheres to regulatory guidelines and industry standards for pharmaceutical advertising.
- Lead creative efforts for HCP (healthcare professional), patient and caregiver audiences across multiple channels.
About You
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Minimum of 15 years in a senior creative role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position at a digital pharmaceutical marketing or advertising agency.
- Strong expertise in art direction and visual design, with a robust portfolio showcasing pharmaceutical and life sciences work.
- Deep understanding of FDA, FTC, DTP, and HCP advertising regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with motion graphics and video production tools.
- Ability to balance creativity with strategic thinking and business objectives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring creative teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Strong presentation and client-facing skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

- Competitive pay and opportunities to advance. The anticipated starting pay for this role is between $225,000 - $275,000 annually, based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, and location. You may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses. We review compensation annually and evaluate readiness for promotions every quarter.
